There was a problem with over-booking and the hotel staff had to move us to a nearby hotel for part of our stay. It was a very nice place and we were treated very well. When we came back to stay at the Springs, we were assigned the nicest suite they have: two jaccuzis, two showers, open mini bar free of charge, a gigantic bed....super luxurious! Golf carts take you from your room to the restaurant or pools. The hot springs are divine! This place was well worth the price and we will return for sure!

Room Tip: All of the rooms have a view of the Volcano. The Master Suite has many more ammenities than the reg...

This is a hotel set amongst beautiful gardens with several hot spring man made pools and an excellent view of volcano Arenal. Its easy to spot many birds without leaving the grounds. The individual bungalows are laid out like a small Florida town with roads and parking space for easy access. We had room 508 which was fine with a shared garden and small terrace. The outdoor shower is a bit shabby and mini bar had a few free items but nothing else.
Breakfast was rather poor for a 4 star hotel especially for Europeans who don't really like 'plastic cheese and ham' and the overrated watermelon. There was a good choice of menu in the main dining room for dinner but everything seemed to come covered in sauces and decorated in loud gaudy colours which I'm sorry to say we found quite off putting. Turquoise cream with desert, very odd. There is also an Italian restaurant where a pizza is 15-28 dollars! A sushi bar and swim up bar in the warm pool which was excellent.
There is nowhere else near by to go and eat so you are captive to the food and prices which were incredibly expensive.
For location to the volcano which thankfully we did see as the cloud cleared on the last day, the gardens and pools this hotel is excellent. For food and price it isn't but that is a personal opinion of course.

Room Tip: Just check the room has a good view of the volcano and get a room that looks across its own garden n...

Great rooms, great pool area, nice food and excellent tours on offer. It is really very hard to fault this hotel. The only negative maybe, is that without a vehicle you have nowhere else to eat, and so you have to eat in the expensive restuarant. Other than that, it's a very good place to stay.

Arenal Springs is a terrific place to stay with your family. We had two rooms for our party of 5 amd we were not disappointed! The swim up bar is actually a hot spring! They drain and clean it nightly so you know it's fresh! We were bummed that the volcano was not visible the three days we were there but, hey, that's life! The locals all say you have to be up early in the morning to see the rim. The restaurants were delicious, especially the Italian themed one. We enjoyed pizza from the wood burning stove that was delicious. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. We highly recommend this resort!

Lovely resort with fantastic views of the volcano. Rooms are lovely with good facilities i.e. fridge, tea/coffee, complimentary cold drinks in fridge. Hot springs are divine and relaxing. We had a mixed experience with the food. First day we ate from the bar menu, club sandwich/salad etc. However, the next evening we ate in the restaurant. My daughter ordered BBQ ribs which had to be sent back - they were still cold in the middle (think they came out the freezer!!). Visit El Silencio where you can do a self guided trek (about 2 hours) and not too strenuous. We spotted lots of wild life and there is an amazing view point of the volcano.

This is an exquisite property! We were met by resort staff with refreshing towels and cold fruit drinks. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms...shut up! Very comfortable, everything you could think of was in the room...the mini-bar was complimentary, so it was nice to grab an ice cold Coke. The swim up sushi bar is DELISH!!!! The mineral pools were absolute heaven. Sitting under the cascading waterfall felt so good on the back and shoulders after our long drive. The meals were excellent. Breakfast, overlooking the resort, was a special treat. Outstanding..highly recommend!

Room Tip: All of the rooms were nice...not a bad location anywhere on the property

We arrived and got fabulous drinks and wet towels. A must after a long drive. We were taken to our room 101 and 102. Great location for families that want to be close to it all. Amazing hot springs and sushi bar. So good! Enjoy it all day and night. Love the fresh towels and hot tub. Concierge was helpful to assist in planning daily activities. Mud massage amazing! Beds were comfortable and the towel animals made daily were a great hit with the kids. In our opinion the only place to stay. Breakfast buffet offered some thing for all. Very safe and wonderful.

Room Tip: We loved room 101 and 102! Great open area to play frisbee Safe
