“Silence Place”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

The hotel have a excellent view of Vulcan. All the rooms have this view. One of most important think its that is not a crowded place so you can enjoy the springs and restaurants with confort and silence.

we were staying in this hotel for 2 nights and we found it quite nice. unfortunately it is located outside la fortuna not within walking distance (especially as night falls - and it falls very early..) so if you have no car you have to pay enormous prices for either dinner at the hotel or the taxi to la fortuna.

we had a car so we went to town for dinner.

the room was spacious and ok, through the partly open shower we had a gecko's visit once...

the breakfast offered a nice variety and a good choice - fresh omlettes and tortilla too:) the waiters with the water, tea and coffee were quick!

we also tested out the hot springs - wow - they were REALLY HOT....

We were on a 10 day tour and were here for 2 nights. The resort is beautiful with all lodging facing the volcano. The hot springs pools and lush grounds were a picture. The staff were more than helpful without being intrusive. The resort and staff have a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The food was good and not overpriced relative to other places we stayed at during our trip. It is close to La Fortuna and several activities such as "zip lining" through forest. You wont be disappointed staying here. The ladies did a spa treatment and were very satisfied.

The hotel is very nice and the staff are super friendly. The pools are well laid out and they have a kids pool as well. Only negative would be the pool floor is very rough to prevent slipping but it scrapes your feet easily. We have cuts all over our legs and feet.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights here in early December. We loved it and wished we had booked more nights! As soon as we walked into reception, we were greeted with cool clothes and juice drinks in flutes. We felt pampered immediately! The rooms are very nice – I especially love the slight opening in the ceiling above the rock shower wall; when it rains, it waters the plants in the shower and you have your own little waterfall in your bathroom. All rooms have a view of the volcano, and that was an incredible site to wake up to in the morning. Rooms also have small patios with rocking chairs, which was a perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee while gazing at the volcano or watching hummingbirds. The grounds are beautiful.. There are many options for swimming and relaxing – several different hot springs pools, a thermal pool (with a swim up bar in it), and a cool temp pool so you can cool off. The restaurants & bar are all open-air, have lovely views of the grounds, and very good food. The staff members are all friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this place!

We needed a place to stay overnight when visiting the Arenal Volcano as it was quite far from our home base in Costa Rica. We are so glad we chose this resort for several reasons. We were greeted at the door with cool facecloths and a refreshing drink. Staff were warm and friendly. They were very helpful and responsive to our requests for additional information and assistance with another side trip we wanted to make. We had a lovely view of the volcano from our large bungalow. The resort and grounds are pristinely maintained. The in-house restaurant was reasonable and the meal extraordinary (dinner). A breakfast buffet was included in the cost of our stay. They offered a wide selection of foods and everything we chose was good. We also visited the spa for a relaxing massage and facial; time well-spent. The thermal springs were wonderfully relaxing (even in the rain); including waterfalls, various temperature pools in natural settings, all surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed three nights and had a good sized room with a decent view of the Volcano and a large bathroom and a TV. We later discovered a lot of hotels in Costa Rica don't have tea and coffee making facilities - fortunately this one did. The Hotel offers to take people to and from their rooms with a golf buggy but we found the walk quite pleasant. The Hotel has well manicured gardens and we saw a wide variety of birdlife including hummingbirds. The spa is fantastic - we enjoyed the first massage so much we booked a second. The massages were in rooms which were semi alfresco and we could hear sounds of birds which made for a very peaceful and relaxing experience. The pool area on the other hand was not particularly peaceful and some days after about 3pm it was packed with families and pensioners. I did enjoy the 80s music which was blaring out though. The restaurant was a little expensive but as we later found out most food in Costa Rica is very expensive which is a bit surprising considering the amount of American Tourism. I recommend ordering a coffee after dinner as the serve it using a contraption that looks like a sock - apparently it's the old fashioned way. Concierge let itself down on the last day - we checked out and asked for a bags to be picked up at 7.30 am and a hour later no one had been to fetch them!

Hello dear guest cm9720, thank you for taking your valuable time to write about your experience here with us, we are happy that you enjoyed the spa areas and gardens, regarding what your mention over the area of the thermal I must explain to you that we are a Hotel where we always have many people visiting us from all over the world.
We always have families with children who love to play and have fun in that area of hot springs, and for being the only hotel in the area where the hot springs are completely exclusive to our guests is in that place where our guests have fun more, thanks for your comments will have them in mind and hope to see you soon.
