“Lovely hotel and hot springs”
Reviewed October 25, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 1 night as we were moving around Costa Rica. Arenal is my favorite area so far. The hotel is very nice, the gardens well maintained and very inviting. The different hot springs are glorious, as is the Jacuzzi! It has a swim up bar, which is nice, the only negative I have was the dreadful burger and chips I ordered, it was old and not freshly cooked, dried out, the chips old and reheated, the meat tasted a bit odd, it really was not good nor made fresh, I felt they should have paid me 12 dollars to eat it not the other way round. That aside a beautiful hotel with great views of the volcano and I would have liked to have stayed a few more nights.

Beautiful grounds and helpful staff. View from room was awesome. Room was a bit small, but the custom shower with skylight and plants was fantastic. Free items in mini-bar was a welcome change from the usual high price tab most hotels have for that convenience. Great breakfast buffet. Best of all, even though we checked out in the morning, we were allowed to return in the afternoon and use the thermal hot spring pool. Convenient changing room with showers next to the pool. Really welcome after a hot, sticky horseback ride up the mountain. Got a great price combining travel bonus points and a promo discount. Even at full cost, I would definitely recommend it.

Extraordinary hot springs pools and outdoor relaxation area (not near as big as Tabacon as I recall but that's OK, it was awesome in its own way). Each room a separate cabana and quite nice, grounds of course beautiful. About 10 minutes to the west of La Fortuna. I think you have to be out there in order to connect up with the Hot Springs coming off the volcano. Ziplining was great, walking tour by Lake Arenal not so much - it could have been the guide although we did see two beautiful Toucans found by other walkers.

We spent 2 nights at the Arenal Springs Resort and Spa in August. We were a party of 2 adults and 3 teenage boys. Before arriving Manuel was extremely helpful in booking the room, coordinating transport from the portrait to the hotel activities while we were there and our transport to Monteverde. He was amazing always very responsive and gave us some great ideas. Arrival at the hotel was stress free. Our rooms were great with a wonderful view of Arenal. We had lunch the first day at the hotel. While the food was good we thought it was very expensive. All of your other meals were taken in La Fortuna or as part of our excursions except for breakfast. The rooms provide free beer and water in the fridge. A very nice amenity. The beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are very tropical. The pool area is great. There are 2 areas to the pool. One is the hot springs and the other is a regular pool. The hot spring area provides a swim-up bar as well as a sushi bar. There is also a dry seating area for the sushi bar. All in all this was a great place to stay. it provided the amenities we needed and a great location.

Room Tip: We liked the rooms closer to the pool. I heard that you can see more wildlife the higher up you go.

We stayed at the resort for 2 nights and we had an amazing time, the view from our room/bed was the magnificent Volcano! They have several amazing hot springs right on the premises and one even comes right up to the bar and sushi restaurant, you never have to get out! I would recommend this hotel to anyone that plans on visiting the Fortuna area, it is close enough to go to town and shop, go zip lining or hiking, its all right at you doors step

Room Tip: All Rooms face the volcano so there isn't a bad one!

We were celebrating our 15th year anniversary, and decided to book this Resort.

We arrive in the evening time 5-6pm. We are greeted with a drink, which was perfect after our long drive. Check in was not an obstacle, in about 5-10 minutes we had our key and heading to our room.

The room we got was 703, which after viewing the map, noticed it was towards the end of the Resort.

There is one parking spot available per room, this was great as we had a rental car.

The staff that gave us the tour of the room, informed of us that the Resort is very green, and that you need the room key to be placed in a slot (beside entrance door) in order for the electricity to work. Found this odd, and thought what what if we decided to split and venture out on different tours. Guess we couldve asked for a secondary key.

Once we unpacked, we headed out to the Thermal Pools.

The thermal Pool is something else. At first it felt extremely hot, but after a while you start getting used to the heat. What Relaxation!!!!!

Breakfast was included with our package. For breakfast they have typical Costa Rica food, I will upload a pic of what I had the first day.

The Resort does feel like a botanical garden, great scenery to stage for pics, and it is well kept.

I would totally book this if I would ever go back to Costa Rica!

This resort has the feel of staying in a botanical garden. The grounds are well cared for and the hot springs were great at the end of the day. Our room was one located in the rear of the resort on the second floor.(room 901) WOW! The room was spacious clean and had a wonderful view of the volcano. Breakfast was included in the price and offered a variety of choices. I would not hesitate to stay at the Arenal Springs in the future

Room Tip: Room 901 is located on the second floor and allows for a superior view of Volcan Arenal
