My husband Dan and I were on our honeymoon, and found the Arenal Spring Resort to be beautiful, exciting, and relaxing all at the same time. We were treated like royalty and all the staff were extremely helpful and gracious. Our accomadations were beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed the exotic flowers all around and the great view of the volcano from everywhere you stood. The hot springs was a great thing to get into after the great hiking trip to the volcano and the rapelling we did down the water falls in the canyon. Eduardo was very helpful in setting up anything we wanted to do. The restaurant also had the best food and service. We look forward to getting back there as soon as we can.

My family of 5 enjoyed our stay. Manuel the bartender was excellent as well as Edwar the concierge! They were always smiling and happy to help. Breakfast was pretty good but dinner was terrible! As my father would say it wad better in the army. I suggest that the restaurant order pizza from next
door to serve along with a ice-cream bar for the kids to enjoy.
enjoy. And please use real cheese in the Nachos not a processed cheese! Overall we enjoyed our stay especially both tours we booked thru the hotel were excellent especially the Don Tobias horseback riding tour.

Great value for the money they allowed 5 of us to stay in 1 room. We are a family of 5. The food is average at best. Breakfast good the rest I'll pass next time. Manuel the bartender was fabulous especially at making mojitas. The concierge Edwar was excellent too always happy to help and remembered our names!!

Based on rave reviews for every place we looked at, it was difficult for us to pick hotels. Now that we´re in Costa Rica, I feel like people are just so happy to be here, that wherever they are staying is like paradise for them.

Arenal Springs was very clean and the staff was very professional. The atmostphere was relaxed and laid back. Breakfeast which is included is HUGE and includes local food and american fare. Buffett style. There were teenagers, but not any little kids running around. So pretty quiet around the pool.

When we checked in we were served a champagne glass of smoothie and there was a small bottle of wine and fruit in our room. Also 2 sodas, 2 beers, and 2 waters were in a fridge to drink that were included in the price of the room.

A few things I wish I had known was that the prices are American, so don´t expect to have anything cheap. The only meal is breakfast and it´s a $10 taxi to town to eat elsewhere (this is true for most of the resorts in La Fortuna...so no fault of the hotel). Meals here start at $9 and go up to $30...you´ll probably pay about 14 for an entree.

We used the spa and had a couples massage and was disappointed that the staff didn´t interact with us beforehand. We paid $150 for one hour. We were shown the table, massaged, and then not even given a glass of water afterwards...which is standard for a massage. It wasn´t a budget experience, and I expected more service from the staff.

We wanted to do laundry and the hotel charges by the piece. One pair of underwear was $.57 up to almost $3 for a shirt to be washed. That was a bummer for us.

In all, the hotel was a tropical paradise with an amazing well kept grounds and view of the volcano, but I do wish I would have known in advance how expensive drinks, meals, and getting to town would cost.

We spent 3 nights at Arenal Springs Resort and afterwards headed to the Guanacaste Area but decided to come back after a huge disappointment at Ocotal Beach Resort. Upon our arrival, we were greeted us with a delicious tropical smoothie. We stayed in two different rooms and both were clean and very accommodating. I highly recommend this Resort to anyone.
Some complain because they encounter insects in their rooms but come on, it's Costa Rica!!! You're supposed to be surrounded by nature!! The hotel is also very Eco-friendly and even grow some of their produce within hotel grounds.

Room Tip: Ask for a 2nd floor room for best volcanoe views
