The Tree House Hotel was an amazing experience! Mark and Lucy are charming and incredibly helpful. They gave great recommendations on where to eat and things to do in the area. The tree house we stayed in was clean and cozy, with a great porch area to sit and enjoy the beautiful topical rainforest. We will be back!

We are so glad that we went to the Tree House Hotel! From San Romone we drove through cloud forest & once we arrived to Tree House we saw amazing sites [you will take all your pictures here (we only took about 300)]. We saw sloths/frogs/flowers and much more on our walk to the waterfalls/pools. Staying in the Tree House was so relaxing along with sleeping among the sounds of the rainforest. Not to mention the breakfast by Lucy and staff was not only delicious but we sat and watched the hummingbirds feed. Then Mark set us up w/ Pura Vida Tours to hike Arenal Volcano – our tour guide Jodi was great! Then went to Tabacon Hot Springs - which is a must! Oh and also on your way to La Fortuna for the tour > stop by Bella Verona for lunch = pura vida.

My husband and I just got back from a stay in treehouse #3. It was so beautiful and much nicer than we expected. It was actually nicer than a lot of hotel rooms we've stayed in! It was very clean and cozy, and there was a nice picnic table on the deck, where we relaxed, read and listened to the sounds of the all the birds and insects. The shower was the best part, it was semi-open and the screens in front of you looked right out into the jungle...it was so nice. Mark and Lucy was such nice hosts, they were helpful and they also bought us soy milk for breakfast, since we're vegans. We definitely appreciated that. We also did the hike in the back to the waterfall and river, which was great. Saw a sloth along the way, poison dart frogs and heard lots of crazy insect sounds- one sounded like an alien spaceship. At night, went next door to a really nice restaurant/bar for a few drinks...it was really nice, all open and overlooked the whole valley- and the waiter/bartender was SO nice. HIGHLY recommend the treehouse hotel. It was unique, super clean and very comfortable. Wish we could've stayed longer....

My Husband and I just returned to the states yesterday after a week long stay at the Tree Houses. We were on our HONEYMOON and both feel we got more than our money's worth! The property is beautiful, well preserved and the opportunity to see the animals at play in their natural habitat was outstanding.. Mark and Lucy are true blessing to their calling! The attention to detail in preparing our treehouse so to welcome us as honeymooners was beautifull! It is obvious they are a truly happy couple that love what they do and enjoy sharing their oasis with others.. They're knowledgable, understanding, and genuinely tune in to your interests and concerns. The TREE HOUSE Is a very "natural" environment, and it does get dark early in Costa Rica, as their is no tv (who needs it anyway!) and the roads are so curvy and not lit driving at night for any distance is risky, either bring a portable dvd and some movies, some card games helped us pass time, or go to bed early!! The locals are friendly, and so appreciative of tips while dining or touring. Our biggest set back is neither of us has any spanish in our vocab, but it didn't hinder us if they didn't quite understand what we wanted, they would find a way to figure it out! We both use Blackberries, and we did have service to them it didn't get signal inside treehouse but once on balcony or common areas, no problems, you must add international calling to your plan prior to leaving. We also HIGHLY recommend utilizing the GPS option when renting a car, and take the full insurance as the driving in Costa Rica is bumpy curvy and sometimes fast the locals know their roads and if you can't keep up they'll make ya feel like they're running you off them!A true must if you are adventurous, want peace from everyday routine and enjoy spending time together without distractions! No where else would you get the attention and service for the money! Our honeymoon will be forever cherished not so much for what we did, as for where we did it, how intimate and relaxing it was, and how truly welcome we were made to feel, after a day with Mark and Lucy you begin to feel as though they are old friends vs: business people. . We definatley plan to return one day, and hope that Mark and Lucy stay on as they are just good people! Go see for yourself! This is not a "cookie cutter" resort all amenities kind of place, it's unique, adventurous, thrilling and educational!

The Tree House hotel was amazing! Mark and Lucy were great hosts. They gave us great directions, recommendations on where to eat, showed us the local wildlife, and washed/folded our laundry
The tree house property feels secluded and there's lots to see. Just steps away from our tree house we saw howler monkeys, sloths, blue jean frogs, and tons of hummingbirds.
From what I've read about September weather in Costa Rica, my friend and I must have been really lucky because it only rained in the late afternoons. It was so relaxing to just sit on the covered patio of our tree house and watch the lightning.
I hope to return to the Tree House Hotel sometime in the very near future.

This is definately a must - the rate at time of writing was $105 nightly for a treehouse that fits 3-4 comfortably (1 full bed, 2 twins in the loft area - yes the tree house has two levels!). Two walls were replaced with 8 floor walk through windows so you can really have an outdoor feel... all from either your treehouse or treehouse balcony! It had all the perks of a real home - small fridge, coffee machine, air conditioner, fans and bathroom.

We stayed under Lucy and Mark's management and felt very well cared for - patient and helpful and a joy to converse with. One night, we went home late at night and found they had the night watchman at the gates waiting for us - they had wanted to ensure our safe arrival home! The watchman, flashlight in hand, walked us to our treehouse.

All in all a wonderful stay.

**If you feel as you must stay connected to the real world and will not be able to cope without internet access, this place is not for you. There is no internet connection in the treehouses. Also, all US blackberries and phones will not work in this area - between us, our ATT, Sprint and Verizon winked out. Additionally, there are no tvs in the treehouses.

Stayed at the Tree Houses in late August, and had a great time despite all the rain. Mark and Lucy were awesome hosts, setting us up with whatever we needed. We stayed in #3. We did the hike to the river and waterfall area in the rain, and it was great. Definitely take that little hike. It didn't stop raining all night and with the sliding doors open, I slept better that night than any other on the trip. We could only stay for 1 night, but would have loved a couple more. I would definitely rent a car if staying here as getting into La Fortuna could be tough. Thanks to the other guys staying there for the ride into La Fortuna. Stay at this place for a unique experience and to be treated well.
