“Felt like home”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights for our honeymoon-it was great. The town is small and the location is excellent-3 minute walk to the main street, park, restaurants. The proprietors-Robert and Jessie were incredibly gracious and accommodating and this is truly a boutique B&B-we felt more like we were guests in their home than at a hotel. They were helpful with planning activities, setting up transportation. The rooms were very clean, roomy suites. Comfortable AC and apple TV which was also nice. Also great view of volcano from patio where you have your delicious breakfast every day. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for the room on the patio-it's like your own private balcony.

Fantastic accommodation, location, breakfast and hosts! The suite was clean and luxurious and had everything we needed. The location is just off the main road so it's nice and quiet, but easily close enough to walk to anywhere downtown (furthest away restaurant took 10 minutes to walk to). The breakfast was fresh, healthy and delicious, and served on the patio. And Robert was welcoming, incredibly accommodating and makes delicious fruit smoothies! Highly recommended

Room Tip: The front room opens on to the deck

We stayed at La Fortuna Suites for three nights during our honeymoon and could not have had a better experience. We only had a general idea of what we wanted to do but Robert and Jessy had great advice and helped to set us up with anything we needed (booking/recommending activities, recommending restaurants, calling cabs, etc.). I really can't say enough about how available and helpful Robert and Jessy were. Breakfasts were excellent and they made a point of asking about what we liked so they could make any adjustments for subsequent days. The suite was comfortable, clean, and in a great location. We didn't have a car but that was not an issue at all because everything in town was in walking distance, they offer free use of bikes, and you can have a cab called and ready for you for anything outside of town in a few minutes. Thank you, Robert and Jessy, for helping us have a great honeymoon!

Room Tip: We were in Suite 2, which opens directly onto the deck with the volcano view where they serve breakf...

We could not have been more blown away with the combination service and feel of this B&B! I'll start with the feel. You can tell that a lot of thought went in to the renovations of this place. We could tell that every detail was accounted for with a welcoming yet trendy look everywhere you turned. Our room included everything that we needed for a true suite - refrigerator, stove, microwave, etc. We also had a welcomed treat with the AC, flat screen and Apple TV for a taste of hime! Enjoy a great breakfast on the second level terrace with a great view of the volcano or take a very short walk to the town center!

Now for the service - Robert and Jesse are unbelievably welcoming and gracious. They went above and beyond, ensuring that we had all that we needed every second without being intrusive or forcing. You can tell that they genuinely enjoyed their paradise and want you to have every opportunity to enjoy it yourself.

We also had a unique experience in that we lost our oil cap somewhere along the way. We were completely lost as to where to start. Both Robert and Jesse jumped in to give us options and point us in the right direction. It meant so much to have such tremendous help in a foreign (literally and figuratively) where we had basic understanding of the language. Also Robert actually made a make-shift oil cap so that we could drive it to the service station for repair!

The experience actually turned out to b quite adventurous and fun. We had to write about it in our blog!

Bob and Jessy handled all the arrangements of our trip to La Fortuna from the time our plane landed in San Jose until we returned to San Jose four days later.. All of our drivers, shuttles and cabs were excellent and the quality of the adventure experiences that they planned could not have been better. They really know the best operators in the area. Staying at La Fortuna Suites could not have been more pleasant. It is a thoroughly modern guest house with the most comfortable beds, and the rooms are, clean with attention to details. The location is just a short walk to the center of town, and gives you a real sense of small town living in Costa Rica.. I can definitely recommend staying at La Fortuna Suites..

Robert and Jessy truly deserve all the excellent reviews on trip advisor. The B&B is two blocks away from the Main Street, an easy walk into town. We stayed in room #2, which has the door connecting to the porch. I highly recommend for the easy access. Our room was very modern and CLEAN, with amenities to die for (apple tv with Netflix, tempurpedic beds, plenty of hot water, mini fridge, airconditioning unit, etc.). Really, they go above and beyond for their guests. They are the nicest and most easy going people. Jessy organized all our tours ahead of time and gave excellent suggestions on food/activities around La Fortuna. I have to note that Jessy did a wonderful job of the design and decorating of the B&B. Robert makes a wonderful and very filling breakfast served on the porch overlooking the volcano. We enjoyed his company very much in the mornings. We wished we would have stayed there all 9 days of our Costa Rican trip, it was our favorite by far! We will definitely be back. We miss u Robert, Jessy, and little Buddy the dog! It was such a pleasure to meet and get to know y'all! Sabrina

Very cool couples B&B. Apartment building thoughtfully converted to comfortable suites. A little hard to find because nothing is marked. 2 blocks off bust main street so easy to get to and not noisy. Hosts were friendly, helpful guides for our trip. On busy Easter weekend they called Tabacon Spa to make sure they had room. We will be back. Susan & Mike
