I absolutely loved this hotel. Our favorite stay in Costa Rica by far! It has beautiful lush gardens and a spectacular view of the volcano from the room and grounds (when the volcano is visible of course!). They provided great customer service and each day after housecleaning arrived, we'd find the cutest animals folded from our towels. It was so fun and creative. Breakfast was included in our rate, and it was only ok, but we did have dinner at the restaurant once, and it was pretty tasty. I enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return to this establishment.

We truly loved this hotel. The rooms were modern and comfortable with A/C, two beds, and a safe. The hotel had a beautiful pool and jacuzzi that we found was a wonderful gathering place during happy hour to share stories and ideas for things to see and do. The restaturant had good food and a decent selection as well as a free buffet breakfast which was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't select our tours through the hotel but realized later it would have been somewhat cheaper. We took the horseback ride to the La Fortuna waterfall which was quite nice. The horses new the route and were mostly mild, be prepared to be sore for a few days if you choose to see go to the waterfall by horesback. Also note that there are near 500 steps that lead down to the waterfall and it is quite a task walking back up on some pretty crazy stone stairs, although there is an observatory from the top so that you can see without walking down. We also did the hike to Arenal Volcano and Toboccan hot springs with dinner. This tour runs around $120 dollars but I felt it was worth every penny. The hike up the volcano was guided and our guide provided a pluthera of information about the volcanos in Costa Rica as well as a wealth of other information and the hike itself was not to strenous, once at the top there is also a wonderful view of Lake Arenal (the largest man made lake in CR). Toboccan is absolutely amazing and a must see, imagine varying small and large hot and cool springs in their natural habitat that you can immerse yourself in at your leisure while be surrounded by tropical flowers and garden. Dinner was a buffet and was very good.

We were lucky enough to have 3 clear days to visit Arenal. From the hotel you can see, hear, and feel the Volcano! Rooms are nice, and clean also with views facing the Volcano. The hotel is located about 5-8 min from La Fortuna and about equal distance to the Arenal Volcano National Park. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the gardens were very pretty and well cared for. I would recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again!

This was a great hotel! The grounds are amazing, including a small path around the perimeter of the area. It's very well kept and gorgeous. The room itself was perfect for my husband and I. We had a view of the volcano (though it wasn't out while we were there) from bed, and the cute porch. Everything was clean and updated. The staff was also great- willing to book tours, recommend restaurants and help in any way we needed. There are 2 restaurants on the grounds too- both good. Breakfast was included when we were there, and that's nice. Dinner was delicious also. I would definitely stay there again if I were back in town!

We stayed at the Volcano Lodge for 2 nights and it was the most relaxing and comfortable place we stayed in Costa Rica. For the price, service, hotel surrounding/location, and quality, Volcano Lodge was spectacular.

Room was pretty large and the bed so comfortable. There's a safe in the closet as well so that's a great plus. I was glad to see that the bathroom was huge and modern.. with hot water! The garden surrounding our room was lush and we can see the volcano from our window.

The front desk staff was so helpful. They really went above and beyond in making activities arrangements for us. They spent a lot of time.. showing us photos of the activities on their LCD screen. We felt kinda bad that it took us so long to decide but they were so patient. Wish I got their names. The front desk also made shuttle arrangements for us to Manuel Antonio.

Breakfast buffet had a variety of selections from basic eggs/omelet station to more traditional (rice/beans, potatoes, etc.) options. I love local fruits and they had tons of it.

In my opinion, Volcano Lodge had an immaculate and beautiful compound. It's just awesome to walk through the grounds in the morning on the way to the front desk.
