“Good spot”

overall I was happy with this spot. The grounds were beautiful and the hot spring pool was okay. I am not certain that its real hot springs (felt more like artificially heated).
Pro - there weren't many people so lots of room in pools
Con - since there weren't many people, pool bar wasn't open though they would still deliver drinks to the pool.

We spent three nights at the Volcano Lodge as part of a self drive tour of Costa Rica.
The gardens are very picturesque and rooms have great views.
We spent lots of time enjoying cocktails in the hot springs - happy hours were a must! Breakfast was also good with a range of fruits and hot food.
It was very convenient for local activities - we visited the waterfall (even went in!), hiked and zip lined. The town is 5mins drive away and has lots of interesting restaurants to try.
Very good value for money hotel.

We stayed at this hotel during our trip for 3 days and had a wonderful time. The resort itself is very well landscaped and is a bird watchers delight. Great views of the Volcano while soaking in the hot tub springs. The restaurant had very good food and we had the best coffee, almost tasted like liquid chocolate....

Staff and service was excellent. The breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choices.

Volcano Lodge & Springs was an exceptional due to the very clean rooms, easy access to all the amenities, and great facilities. The staff's customer service was exceptional and many were bilingual. We'll return to this first-class vacation spot in the future and will stay at Volcano Lodge and Springs.

Wow what a deal! $108 total per night for a luxury resort including breakfast and taxes. Each of the room faces out to a beautifully landscaped and natural terrain. There is a sense of solitude. Walking to the restaurant, you pass by amazing flora and fauna. The view of Arenal Volcano is great (on a clear day). There is a small hot (warm) springs – but don’t expect what you get from Tabacon.

We had a gourmet dinner there – and not unreasonably priced. The breakfast is wonderful. The entrance and pools are classy.

You cannot go wrong at this place!

My friends and I had a great stay at Volcano Lodge. The staff were very amenable and prompt to respond to needs. The location is great with respect to the volcano and hot springs. There is a small hot springs on site and some swimming pools. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. Overall great place to stay for the price.

Booked 3 nights at Volcano Lodge and Springs as part of a Groupon Costa Rica trip package.
Beautiful grounds and room, about 10 minutes from the nice little town of La Fortuna. The buffet breakfasts in the poolside dining area were wonderful, with a variety of Costa Rican dishes which changed every day ...... fruits, veggies, pancakes, egg dishes. Multi-tiered hot spring pools, multiple swimming pools, beautifully landscaped and foliated grounds.

The only downside to staying at this Lodge during the rainy season : the risk that you will never see the top of the nearby Mt. Arenal volcano, and I am disappointed to say that this was the case for us. We made up for it, however, by taking advantage of the many activities - available thru the hotel, directly through the adventure outfits in town, or 'on your own'. We hiked the cloud forest, went rafting on the Sarapiqui River (I have rafted in Yosemite, Colorado, Montana, WV, and PA, and this was as awesome as any, especially in the 'context' of the environment : sloths in the trees, parakeets and Toucans flying overhead, and some seriously fun rapids that were a real challenge) and enjoyed beers and good food in the local restaurants.
A great 3 days / nights
