“Excellent hotel with mindblowing volcano view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014

Volcano view from the room was stunning. Breakfast was awesome and had lot of varieties. Tropical fruits were really sweet. Bathroom could have been updated. Room was fantastic and the lush green plantations all around were a treat to the eyes. Couldnt have planned a better place for vacation.

My husband and I stayed here just one night while in Costa Rica. We really enjoyed the views of the Volcano from our room and the little porch with rocking chairs. The grounds were meticulously maintained with lots of lush tropical plants and flowers. The many tropical birds were also very fun to hear and watch. The room was comfortable and clean. We were a little disappointed to have two double beds instead of one queen or one king, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The hot springs were warm at best but definitely worth sitting in for a little evening relaxation. The breakfast buffet was ok--nothing too special. The hotel itself is really big though so there's no real uniqueness or authenticity.

We enjoyed our stay at Volcano Lodge and Springs. When we stayed there, they had just completed the hot springs the week before, so they were still putting the finishing touches on that. Our room was comfortable, though not luxurious. The patio outside the room was nice with a nice view of the tropical gardens and the volcano (when the clouds lifted). The grounds were beautiful. The food in the restaurant was good. The breakfast buffet was plentiful with lots of choices. The only negative thing I have to say is that the restaurant needs to open a little earlier in the morning for those who have booked excursions with tour operators that leave earlier. The front desk did offer us a "to-go" box, but we enjoy having the variety of the buffet. Overall, a great stay, and we would not hesitate to come back to this hotel.

Our group of seven stayed here. The rooms are clean and rather large. The hot springs are included, and though nothing spectacular, they are a nice place to soak. Breakfast was good without being anything spectacular and the grounds of the hotel are well kept. The view of the volcano on a clear day is incredible. I can't see a good reason to stay in town unless you don't have a car. If you have transportation this is a great option.

Beautiful grounds, very safe. Gated entry. The grounds are a series of connecting paths with wild tropical plants in abundance. Room is large, numerous lighting options. Our room had a small very private patio with amazing views of Arenal Volcano. Breakfast served at the open air restaurant which is poolside. Nice little shop on premises, I bought several souvenirs there. Very friendly people! Will stay here again!

Room Tip: I had a room with 2 beds near the back of the property. Was able to park my car close so I could kee...

Nice resort conveniently located to main attractions of the area. Good food at restaurant at reasonable prices. Nice clean air conditioned rooms with private patios facing Volcano. Grounds provide nice walk where you can see many birds and lizards. Would stay again

Nice Spartan place, not luxurious but beautiful volcano view with a fairly decent breakfast. Weather is great in February not much to do in town but came across some interesting local designed mens wear most women clothing was from US.

Room Tip: All rooms are on the same level and have a great view of volcano
