“Expensive paradise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2014

We were recommended by our hosts to visit the Tabacon Hot Springs instead of the other hot springs around La Fortuna and we didn't regret the decision. It was a paradise. We enjoyed walking around in the big garden and bathing in the river the most. The pools were nice, too. The dinner buffet looked great and tasted very good, but I was a bit disappointed of the taste of the desserts. Altogether it was worth it to spend a few dollars more and visit the Tabacon Hot Springs. And you should visit them during daylight to get a view of the nice garden. It wasn't as nice at night.

Dear Nadine F

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. We are glad you decided to visit Tabacon per your host´s recommendation. Our hot spring river emerge from the majestic Arenal Volcano forming natural cascades and pools through the property where you can explore nature, at night there's a magical atmosphere including the steam of the river and the sounds of nature. Every single night we have an international theme buffet at Ave del Paraiso Restaurant, we are glad you enjoyed it, I have forwarded your comments about desserts to the Food and Beverage team. Our hotel guests receive complimentary entrance to the thermal area during their stay this is a saving of $ 60 per person per day, we invite you to check out our hotel deals for a future visit. We would love to receive you as our guest in the near future.

“So relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2014

We loved Tabacon , everything is so well organised they provide everything you need, but do take a pair of flip flops or beach shoes as the stones / gravel can hurt. We were there for the evening and it is so romantic, each pool / waterfall is heated at a different temperature ranging from cool to very hot ! We found if you started at the bottom pool and worked your way to the top one you became accustomed to the fluctuating temperatures it is certainly theraputic and my skin felt so soft afterwards. We had the buffet meal afterwards and although a little pricy , you could eat as much as you wanted and the quality and range of dishes was excellent.
One of our favourite evenings in Costa Rica

The thermal springs are in a completely natural setting, that's why wearing water shoes is strongly recommended. “Not impressed at first but ended up being amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2014

We didn't like that the springs were not at the Tabacon hotel like we thought. We scoped it out the first night and the entrance was really crowded. There must have been a tour bus leaving or something. The restaurant there was a buffet and it was $40 per person. No buffet is ever worth that! Once we actually walked around and soaked in the springs, we fell in love with it. ShangriLa gardens (only open to hotel guests) were amazing. The hot springs weren't crowded at all. They are well maintained and beautiful. Totally worth it, especially if you stay at Tabacon because you can go anytime.

We really appreciate your review. We are happy to know you enjoyed an amazing time in our thermal resort. Tabacon sits over 872 acre of private rainforest reserve, we are blessed with a marvelous setting. Our thermal area is located a 5-minutes walking distance from the hotel facilities as we have the natural river as part of the experience, we also offer free shuttle from the hotel to the hot spring and vice versa all day long. As you mentioned, our hotel guests receive complimentary access to the hot springs and also to Shangri-La Gardens our private area for hotel guest over 18 years old, where you can enjoy the most relaxing and romantic experience. “Ohhhh wow!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2014

We visited the hot springs as a part of a hiking excursion. We had no idea what to expect. We visited the hot springs after dark and it was SO romantic. So many nooks and crannies to hide in. :) Some of the pool were super hot, some were not. One had a swim up bar. One of our favorite nights in Costa Rica, you have to go there.

Dear OklahomaPrettyKitty

We really appreciate your comments. We are glad you decided to visit the only natural thermal mineral springs in the Region after an adventurous hiking excursion. At night as you mentioned, our guests are able to experience a mystical and romantic ambience with the steam of the thermal river and the lighting in our trails surrounded by the rainforest. We also recommend spend some time during the day exploring our thermal resort where the impressive gardens shows to our visitors the richness of Costa Rica flora and fauna. We are glad to know we exceeded your expectations and hope to receive you again as our guests in a near future!

“Expensive, Baldi is Better !!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2014

We have been to both Baldi and Tabacon and just felt that Baldi was better... Tabacon is more expensive and just don't worth it. We were there at evening and barley saw something... lots of the pools have rocks and sand in the bottom and we hurt ourselves several times... None of the pools have a sign or something about the temperature of the water inside ...

Dear Ronny B

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear that you were not impressed with our hot springs. Tabacon offers more than 20 different natural pools, waterfalls and ponds with different ambiences located in 872 acre private rainforest reserve so our guests are able to decide if they stay in a tranquil pool or enjoy a natural massage in our main waterfall, what makes Tabacon unique is the perfect combination of volume, temperature and mineral content, we do not pump the water, it emerges naturally from Arenal Volcano. The thermal springs are located in a completely natural setting that's why wearing water shoes is recommended, but if our guest prefer they can enjoy our thermal water pools that are not located in the river. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you in the future.

Sincerely
Yendry Espinoza
