A little bit of sticker shock @ $85 with buffet lunch, but it very very well maintained and relaxing and totally worth it!

I came here after a long day of excursions. Upon arrival they make you put up a credit card for $80 in deposit for a towel and locker. I had dinner at the buffet which was decent. I then went to the lockers to change. The hot springs are nice. Since it was night it was hard to tell where each pool was. Some pools were warmer than others. I heard the landscaping is awesome but it was hard to see at night therefore I would recommend coming during the day. There were also a lot of children there which I didn't expect.

The locker room has a water extractor for swimsuits, showers and hair dryers. Overall nice experience.

We spent the better part of an afternoon and early evening here, including a late lunch at the restaurant. Admission was complimentary because we stayed at the hotel - if you're adamant about making this attraction a part of your visit to Arenal, getting a good rate on a room at Tabacon effectively gets you into the hot springs whenever you want for "free".

Our first impression was that the place is a little past its expiry date. While the grounds are beautifully kept and the facilities nice enough, they didn't really convey the over-the-top luxury we were expecting. Changing areas are very communal, some of the pools, bridges, and pathways were in a bit of disrepair, and overall service was more "friendly community pool" then "five star". Based solely on the rack rate that Tabacon charges, I would have to say that this place did not really meet my expectations.

Lunch and drinks were fine, if a little expensive.

As the temperature fell during the evening, and the crowd diminished a little, it did become more enjoyable. The water itself is of generally good quality, and felt like it had a nice, balanced mineral content.

Unfortunately, we had young children with us and didn't have a chance to enjoy the spa or adults-only area. Instead, we spent some of our time around the main pool, bar, and waterslide, which were all quite mediocre. As a note to other parents with little ones, you might want to give Tabacon a miss in favor of somewhere else that has regular pools. With hot, fast-flowing water, rocky bottoms, and a mediocre family area, there's simply not much value here for young families.

Relaxing hot springs in jungle. Nothing about grounds to dislike. Dinner was included in our day at spa. Mexican night at restrauant, nothing special about food. Some type of beef that you could not chew. Other items on buffet just so-so.

Definitely wear flip flops or water shoes. Very crowed and noisy.. The meal was ok, nothing special and a little bland.
