We actually had a great for of the Volcano

We spent 10 days in Costa Rica spending time in three very different areas. The rainforest, cloud forest and Pacific Coast. Arenal Paraiso Hotel Resort and Spa was our first stop and our favourite. We did Canyoning off site one day and I hike down the trail on the property another day to see the waterfall.
With these activities it was great to spend some time in the hot springs and then the hot spring at the bar. The cocktails and food at the bar were great.
From our cottage we had a wonderful view of the volcano and the flowers and trees.
We had dinner in the restaurant a few nights and breakfast daily. The food was traditional Tipico.
Next time in Costa Rica we would definitely spend more that 3 nights. So much to do in Arenal and so much to enjoy at the Arenal Paraiso Hotel Resort and Spa.

Hot Springs Mania

We loved staying here. The easy and unlimited access to the hot springs made this location ideal for our family. In the morning before and evening after our planned activities we would come and soak and play. Compliment my breakfast was generous and delicious. The restaurant is expensive so a taxi or drop off in la fortunate is recommended. The staff is friendly and always helpful.

Beautiful views and relaxing hot springs.

Our room location '269' was just above the springs and restaurant. It was a short walk to experience a number of the springs- from hot to warm (with a swim up bar). Got a great view of a 3 toed sloth in the tree just outside the restaurant. This hotel was our favorite in Costa Rica, but there were a few mosquitos to deal with.

Room tip: Liked room '269' a lot as it had great views and was a short walk to springs.

Beautiful location, central and scenic

This resort is on a beautiful hillside with a spectacular view of the volcano. Has all the amenities, zip-line, hot springs pools, swimming pools, wonderful gourmet restaurant, and the VIEW! Also, has a big, furry sloth in the tree!

Room tip: The resort is on the main highway, but there's no traffic at night.

Volcano visit

After years of trying, I finally got to visit Arenal, unfortunetly it is dormant these days and does not put on a light show at night, which has the locals troubled, as it might blow big the next time.
I chose Arenal Paraiso because of the continous flowing hot spring pools that tumble down the hillside. It did not disappoint, the top pool is approx 105 degrees F. which I found perfect. The lower pools were to cool for my liking, but the pool surounding the swim-up bar is perfect, especially with the fresh water pool next to it for a refreshing dip.
All the rooms face Arenal and the deluxe rooms with their screen porch are especially nice to sit out on at night. All that is except 210, which is located next to the house-keeping shed and it can be noisey in the morning when they are pulling out their carts.
The inclusive breakfast was very good, plenty of fresh fruit, eggs, plantain, assorted meats, rice, beans and assorted breads.
Twice I ate at the inhouse steak house, but both times I stuck with local dish (familia) with fish (Tilapia), both very good.
If I ever go back to visit Arenal, I would stay here again.. .

Room tip: Up on the hill is best
