“Tasty Food, Clean Eatery”
Review of Soda Ara

Came here 10 minutes before closing(7pm). We didn't realize that sodas are mainly for lunch and close very early. The owners were very nice and welcomed us in so pretty much we had the place all by ourselves. Had the Costa Rican national dish (Chuleta) pork chop with Gallo Pinto and Plantain again. The food was pretty tasty and the place is very clean. The only minus was the rice was dry, probably due to sitting out too long at the end of the day.
Overall, an enjoyable (and very affordable) eatery in a touristy town.

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have many reviews... Maybe because it's definitely a local place but is the bet soda I think!!! We were told to go here by the front desk person at our hotel. The first time we went look for it we couldn't find it an decided to eat somewhere else. The next day we finally found it and went in for lunch. It's a small place but their food and value are great. My husband had a typical plate of beans, rice and fried fish which was cooked fresh. The fish was great. I choose the beef nachos which were also delicious and more than enough food for one. We also ordered a cheese empanda but was a little more breading than we are used to. Other than that I would highly recommend lunch or dinner here. It's a little hard to find but worth looking for!!! The staff were also friendly and it was a clean place.

We went here on the recommendation of our horseback riding guide Eric. We were the only tourists there and there was a steady stream of students, workmen, drivers, and other Costa Ricans. The food was quickly prepared and nicely presented. The place is clean and friendly and reasonably priced. The menu is typical Costa Rican diner (Soda). Highly recommended.

Based on a recommendation from a shop owner, we stopped at soda Ara. It is a local hangout and we found no tourists there. The food was the best in the area and the prices were great. Amazing casados (we had one beef and one grilled chicken). Delicious fresh juices. My only regret is not going back day after day.
