Relaxing, uncrowded, unhurried, varied environments and water temperatures all spell rejuvenation at an extremely affordable price. You can go alone and remain as anonymous as when you arrived - or meet new friends. It's almost impossible not to meet a kindred soul (or souls) on an outing such as this. Even going with a large group of friends will undoubtedly encourage banter between groups. I wouldn't trade the afternoon we spent hear for any other experience on our Costa Rico trip. Make it a 'must see' on your trip as well!

My husband and I chose Paradise after reading several reviews and are glad we did. We were greeted by David, who was just lovely, and he gave us a tour of the grounds, which included a full and seemingly unbiased description of the competing hot springs in the area so we could decide where we wanted to go. David was at our beck and call all evening, answering numerous questions, adjusting pool temperatures at our request, coordinating our dinner choices, etc. etc. I just adored him and was so happy he was on duty when we arrived.

The grounds are beautiful, there are many different types and temperatures of pools, it was not crowded at all (we went in the evening) so we enjoyed the privacy. We had dinner there and it was delicious.

I think Paradise is great for couples and/or groups of adults and for people who do not like crowds or loud and noisy environments when they are trying to relax. For the admission price, which was nominal, I highly recommend checking it out, even if only for a few hours.

We added this on to a tour to Arenal Volcano, while everyone else hopped off at other springs, I think we got the best experience. The owner was very accommodating, showed us each area, told us to let them know if there was anything that would make us happy. There were very few people there, so was like our own backyard pool. The grounds and landscaping was gorgeous. All was maintained and clean. We had a great meal, and were served by the owner's daughter. It was very enjoyable and informative talked to her about the area.

We visited the Paraiso (Paradise) Hot Spring on the recommendation of one of the lovely guides at Desafio Tours. It was as she promised: uncrowded, less commercial than Baldi Hot Springs.

We were greeted by a pleasant young woman who escorted us through the property, showing us the changing rooms and lockers, the various hot pools and cool water pools, and the restaurant.

The setting was lovely. The pools are not natural, but the water is genuinely heated by geothermic activity from the volcano. (We were warned about some springs that are further away from the volcano and are not naturally heated.) The area is beautifully landscaped, there are lounges built into the pools, along with little cement bistro tables for cold water to drink, and towels are provided.

The changing rooms, showers and bathrooms were spotless, there were plenty of lockers available, and the entire area was neat and clean and pleasant. There was a restaurant, but we did not try it.

It was a perfect place to ease sore muscles after the long climb up from La Fortuna Waterfall.

Bring a bathing suit, sunglasses, a hat if you need. Towels are provided.
