We were recommended to come to Los Lagos since we have a 12 year old son because it offers both cold and hot pools as well as water slides. We were not guests at the resort, but entered on a day pass to the pools. Just tell the guard you are coming for the springs and pay at the registration desk. I had been concerned that it would be crowded and that is usually not my scene. Although it was busy, it is laid out in such a way with multiple pools and nooks and lush landscaping that it did not feel crowded. Though you may have to scope out a lounge chair if you do not get there early. During the heat of the day, the cold pools were refreshing and in the evening, the hot pools were lovely! There is a small changing area and restrooms. If you are not a guest at the resort, there are lockers and towels to rent. We did not eat or drink, but there are facilities that provide both, ranging from a swim up bar to a full service restaurant down the hill. Unfortunately it stormed and we were unable to check out the mirador, which you also can access with the day pass. But, you can see the volcano as you are at the base if the weather is clear.

Los Lagos was recommended to us as a good place to visit with our 12 year old daughter because of the fun slides and various pools. For our daughter this was good advice, as she had lots of fun on the various slides and slipping in/out of the different pools, some hotter than others.
The food was average at the swim-up bar. The pina coladas in the pineapples were fun to drink but the burgers not that great. If my wife and I were on our own, I think we would have preferred one of the other smaller hot springs, but for our daughter it was what she was hoping for.
As a place for couples to enjoy, I would rate it a 2/5, and for kids a 4/5... so averaged out for this review... a 3/5.
For a family traveling with kids this would be fun for them.

This is not a natural hot springs. It is several swimming pools with hot springs water pumped in. It is actually too hot to stay in for too long so you cannot pass too much time here. I was unimpressed :( the slides were fun though!

The pool and hot springs were a wonderful treat for the family! Slides and fun, the pool clean a refreshing, then the series of hot springs running down the hillside was a delight! We found them clean and maintained, they even fully emptied and cleaned the larges hot pool ( as big as other hotels regular pool with a swim up bar!) and cleaned and refilled it before we even finished breakfast. The grounds of the facility were great, with crocodile, aligator, butterfly enclosure, frog enclosure all withing lovely gardens you can self tour. The included breakfast buffet was decent, nothing to rave about, but reasonable food and good service. Our joy ended with the room we stayed in. At nearly $200 per night ( that fee for extra guests over 2 for a room with 2 queen beds never makes sense to us!) the room was decent at best. It was spacious, and the beds comfortable, but it was pretty "rustic" for the price, and the bathroom was not good. Very poor water pressure (with all that naural hot sprin water gushing down the hillside, this doesn't make sense) and the bathroom was just not clean-looking. We weren't thrilled to be in the last cottage at the top of the hill, but someone has to stay there, and the excercise worked off some of the breakfast!!! Overall, I wouldn't choose to stay here again, but would definitely visit the springs here as the price for the day was good.

Our G Adventures guide brought us here & we ate at the buffet (we arrived late & got the tail end of the food so weren't overly impressed). Afterwards we tried out the hot springs pools which were nice ... but a little TOO warm for me. We also tried the crazy waterslide. The grounds looked gorgeous... would have loved to seen the property in daytime!
