“Favorite place in Fortuna”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

I have been through Fortuna on several occasions over the years and so have eaten at several lodges and restaurants, but my favorite is Steakhouse El Tobogan. It is an open restaurant and looks rather basic, but the food is excellent. I ate here with my brother and sister-in-law and we all loved our dishes. Steak, chicken or fish -- it's all good. The owner is very nice, and the waitresses were great as well. The prices fall into the range of good value for the money. Come and eat here -- you won't be sorry.

“The BEST steak in Costa Rica”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

I lived in Costa Rica for a semester as an exchange student and saw a lot of the country in that time. More recently my wife and I spent 9 days on our honeymoon in Costa Rica.

I was amazed at the quality of meat and the preparation. I honestly did not believe that steaks of this quality could be found in Costa Rica. If you want better beef, you will have to buy a ranch (trust me, I grew up on a farm raising beef).
