Owner description: Small private Natural Reserve that takes care of a secundary forest in natural reneration. iT counts with a 600mts trail along the park. Around the facility you will find sloths (2 and 3 toes) a pretty big diversity of birds (Aprox.170spp)Butterfly garden, where you breed close to 20 different species. The frogs are very common, but mostly at night, in the day the msot active one is the blue jeans frog. It also has a small natural lake where Iguanas, Boat billed Herons and Caimans interact together. Besides wildlife, the Ecocentro Danaus supports the Maleku's Indigenous by providing a small facility where they can teach and exhibit their art ( Buying their art is optional )

My wife really wanted to see sloths and we were told that Ecocentro Danaus had them. It is located withing 2km of La Fortuna so very convenient. Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. We had an excellent time.

We had a blast with Gabriel the tour guide. I think the guide here is a must, the grounds are so small and intimate that you need someone to point out all the hidden wildlife for you. Also he was so knowledgeable about medicinal plants, flowers, and wildlife in the area. They had a baby sloth on the grounds too!

This regenerated rain forest was just a farm less than two decades ago. Now its a three hectare reserve full of flora and fauna. Only worth seeing with a tour guide (who earns no salary, only the top-up fee for tours). Our guide was very knowledgeable about the site and made it very worthwhile. Great for kids and seniors.

We did the night tour of Ecocentro Danaus, and it was great! I was a bit disappointed when we started because they told us since it wasn't wet, the chance of seeing frogs was low- and I really wanted to see frogs. Not only did we see frogs, but we saw 4 sets of the beautiful red-eyed tree frogs! Our guide was excellent. He spoke English very well and had a great knowledge of the flora and fauna- you could tell he loved his job. I would definitely recommend visiting this- I'd love to go back during the day too!
