As others have remarked this is a typical Soda style cafe offering local dishes. Costa Rican food is, well, Costa Rican food. You don't come here for the food. It's not as interesting or varied as Italian, Thai or almost any other cuisine. It centers around rice and beans as it is a very poor country. That said - you can find edible and tasty food in Costa Rica and this soda provided us a good meal. Many eateries do not provide good value - food is horribly overpriced for the portion sizes, quality of preparation and presentation and service. So prepare for that if you visit - this is especially true in the touristy areas and hotel restaurants.
