The Royal Corin Thermal Water Spa & Resort
Certificate of Excellence

We began and ended our Costa Rica trip at the Beacon Hotel. The room was exceptional and the hotel was beautifully maintained. Service at both arrival and departurre was great. We were a little timid about exploring the neighborhood since it did not look tourist-friendly when we arrived. We had a better view when we returned and realized Escazu is really a nice area. Not sure you can walk to much from the hotel but certainly worth catching a cab and exploring. Bottomline: a great hotel.

This hotel was amazing. it doesnt look too impressive from the outside, but very nice on the inside and the pool area is beautiful. we stayed in a master suite on a special where you pay for the first 2 nights and get the third for free. the views of the volcano here are gorgeous and the pool area outside is beautiful, there are not a lot of people at the hotel, which we kind of liked, and the people at the front desk were very helpful. i would not recommend eating at the hotel, since there are a few nice place in la fortuna town, like anchio italian restaurant and don defino. the room had an amazing shower, and jacuzzi in it. very nice. overall very nice location for roughly 200 bucks per night.

Returned from a one week stay in Costa Rica - wonderful time, nice people somewhat reasonable value - but no giveaways. We stayed at the Royal Corin for two nights in a "junior suite". Wonderful large and comfortable room - very nice bathroom and a good view of the volcano assuming it is not clouded over - which is about 50% of the time according to people. We also took one of the hotel "package" deals which gave us our breakfast, dinners both nights and his and hers massages and facials for not a whole lot more than the regular room rate. Food was OK - not great. Spa folks were nice as was the staff in general. While they say everyone speaks English in the hotels, knowing some Spanish can be helpful. Lastly, many hotels in the area have 4 and 5 "star" advisor ratings, please be sure to consider the type of hotel experience you are looking for - Royal Corin is a "true" 4/5 star hotel. Other inn and hotels while getting very high marks are much more of the "rustic" kind. I am not being dispareging, just want you to compare apples to apples so that you can have the best experience based on your desires - thus the title.

Location is great, very near Lafortuna, Costa Rica-, 5-10 minute taxi ride, very pretty grounds, restaurant was American food, rather upscale. Room had a few concerns, shower leaked from the top of cealing spigots and out the dooron the bottom-bar offered no snacks when ordering a drink-there was No entertainment at all any day or evening. The steam room near the thermal pools did not work as my husband tried it twice. Very pretty area with rooms facing the pools- scenery was lush. Spa was quite pricey so we chose not to use it.

The hotel was decorated beautifully. The pools were delightful. The breakfast was delicious. The happy hour should have been out at the pool instead of on the 5th floor. Also, the drinks were a little weak. Standard rooms were very pricey, but only offered double beds. Rooms were small.

My husband and I traveled to Arenal and stayed at the Royal Corin in February 2010. The hotel really blew us away. We were greeted with a wet towel to freshen up (we saw others were also greeted with a fruity drink). The staff were extremely friendly and willing to help us out with anything. All of the rooms have an excellent view of the volcano (as long as the weather permits). The pool is thermally heated and has a swim up bar. There are also other smaller pools at the hotel as well, with varying degrees of heat. The room itself is wonderful. Every night we were left with treats to enjoy (cookies and cakes). We also ate dinner in the hotel one night and the food was by far some of the best we had. The location of the hotel is convenient. It is a few minutes away from all of the attractions. There is also a computer available with free internet. The hotel also has free wi-fi available. I have nothing negative to say about our experience at this hotel. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to the Arenal/La Fortuna area.

We stayed here for 3 nights. I was surprisingly shocked and thrilled at the quality of this hotel. The rooms were immaculate and every corner cleaned. I haven't been to such a relaxing and well kept hotel ever in my life and I appreciate all the staff did for us as well. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in La Fortuna area. The natural sauna and hot spring water was a huge plus too!!
