“Great view, friendly staff, relaxing pool”
Reviewed August 11, 2009

This is one of the hotels that doesn't have a long, bumpy, entrance. The pool has a swim-up bar and hot springs everywhere. The view of the volcano was beautiful with the occasional clouds that blocked our view. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant is pricey compared to the little hole-in-the-wall places in La Fortuna but you get pretty big portions. We only ate dinner here twice. Only thing is, they only have 1 restaurant but they offer free breakfast every morning from 6:30am-10am. Sometimes, at night, the staff will come by your room and give you sweets. The free wi-fi was a plus. They will also let you print anything at the front desk. La Fortuna is not walking distance from this hotel but you can get a taxi for about 2500 colones one way which is what we did most of our trip to eat and buy souvenirs. The hotel only carries colones in currency so if you pay in any other currency, you will get colones back. They offer activities but I booked all our excursions beforehand. It is walking distance to Baldi Springs which seems to be a big hit with tourists. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in La Fortuna.

The hotel is brand new so not well known yet, which is fantastic. The staff is unbelievable - I was not feeling well one day and they made clear chicken soup just for me. The facilities are superb, the pool is wonderful and warm with a swim up bar. The breakfast delicious. The location is also convenient to the volcano though do not expect to see lava...that's really rare though you will hear it if you go hiking nearby.
The only con is that the hotel is close to right next to the road and a local disco, but it's not loud enough to be an issue. Def recommend it.

We spent 3 days at this hotel in July and had an excellent time! All the rooms face the Arenal volcano, we could not have a better view! The staff was friendly, the room was superb, the food was excellent and the pool was just amazing! A bit expensive, but it is worth every penny.

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Royal Corin May 17-20, 2009 and we absolutely loved it! We would highly recommend this hotel for people traveling to La Fortuna that want to stay at a higher-end hotel (especially couples because it seemed to be a honeymoon spot). They had great customer service, staff, amenities (we loved the Spa and did treatments 2 days in a row), and the food was excellent! Our first night we noticed the air conditioning wasn't working so we called the front desk. They had someone up within 10 minutes to fix it and when they couldn't fix it after 5 minutes they moved us to another room immediately (even helped move our stuff). About 15 minutes after they moved us they sent us a bottle of wine and a cheese plate to make up for any inconvenience. The customer service truly was amazing!

Just stayed at this hotel and it was fantastic. Request the junior suites ( cormer suite directly facing the Volcano) . Amazing has huge whirlpool in roon with 2 balconies and sliding glass doors. This is a very new resort hotel and the grounds and hot pools are amazing. They have probably 6-10 whirlpools and a swim up bar pool that must have been 80 degress. Was wonderful.

Staff was super friendly and the top bar is amazing. Looks like something you would see in NYC or LA and has a beautiful balcony overlooklng the volcano. HAve drinks up there.

They were also very helpful with planning day trips.. Go horseback riding and rafting . It is a class 4 and fantastic.

Enjoy your stay!

My fiance and I stayed for 3 nights in March in a room that was the nicest I have ever stayed in. We found a package on expedia with an upgraded room. We have travelled extensively, especially my fiance with work and stayed in some of the most upscale hotels there is, and we both agreed the room was by far the most incredible at the Royal Corin. We loved everything about this hotel. The jacuzzi had a tv in it! We had 2 balconies one looked out over the pools, one at the volcano. We had a direct view of the volcano from our room. Everything was finished to the highest standard and very modern. I seriously wish I could live there!

The hotel was only 15% full which we found odd because it was supposed to be at the tail end of high season, but everywhere in CR seemed to be empty during our trip. We were told by everyone that it was abnormal. The service was fantastic, we were greeting with a welcome drink when we arrived, each evening around 7pm a staff member would knock and present us with a complimentry dessert to enjoy. Anytime we had a request or a question the staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy.

The pools were a shock, my fiance was going to dive in one day and luckily tested it first because they are hot springs pools and the water was super hot. Clearly only for use in the cooler evenings. Which was amazing. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful with a perfect view of the volcano. They also had a complimentry breakfast each morning which was delicious.

Anyone who selects this hotel would NOT be disapointed. We did not have one bad thing to say about it. The only thing we would recommend is that the restaurants served only American type food and it was pricey. We always went into town to eat so we could try Costa Rican dishes at 1/20th of the price!

This was my favorite hotel during my stay in Costa Rica. After a horrible night staying in a lodge where we found cockroaches on the bed, we happened upon this wonderful hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious, well-appointed and most importantly- had no bugs. We stayed in the junior suite for under $150 per night (I think because it was the low season, prices for the rooms were marked down. I'd say call the hotel directly to inquire about prices as we had no reservations and I'm not sure they're advertising their sale.) The staff was always courteous, the views of the Arenal volcano were spectacular (although not the lava flow side), the hotel provided free internet access and the restaurant was very good albeit a little pricey. The pool and hot springs provided a beautiful area to sunbathe and relax. The spa had a special where prices were marked off 40-50%.
This place is very modern looking. I believe the hotel is only about a year old. If you want to stay in a place where it is very rustic, this is not the place for you. I found that doing all the fun outdoor activities, including hiking and zip lining and then coming back to the modern comforts this hotel provided proved ideal for me.
