Loved this hotel! The bed was cozy, bathroom very clean with a nice rain shower and the best part was the view from the balcony- lush greenery and on a clear day a nice steaming volcano view! The hot pool was nice too, especially when it was raining outside, otherwise it gets hot very quickly. The restaurant presented the food artistically, but was just O.K. with taste. It was easy to take a cab into La Fortuna ($6 or $7) and grab a bite to eat. We ate at the Lava Lounge (fajitas, hamburgers, etc) and Benedictus Steak house (fabulous food and welcoming owner) is located right next door to Royal Corin (nice to have the option of walking over if you don't want to stay at the hotel or take a cab at night)

The Loto spa was wonderful too, very relaxing couples massage for 70 minutes (similar to US prices). Would return to this hotel definitely, loved the small intimate feel and the proximity to town and the volcano. The hotel arranged our hanging bridges tour, which was great- about 30 minute drive to this excursion. We even used the lobby computers to email our family and give them trip updates- which was convenient b/c we don't have wifi or smartphones.

The only disappointing thing about this hotel is the restaurant location, it is located downstairs, with an underground feel- it would be nice for the hotel to move its breakfast buffet to the 5th floor Lava Bar so you can have breakfast overlooking the volcano, rather than downstairs with a view of a few plants and a wall that blocks a view of anything else. You can' t see the volcano once the sun goes down, so its fine to eat dinner downstairs, but it was a shame to not dine with the view of that marvelous volcano in the background in the morning when the sky is usually free of clouds!

Beautiful Hotel, Great staff, Amazing Room (Jr. Suite), Pool, and Hot Springs were Great espoecially after some of the rigorous tours we undertook during our stay. The Hotel Restaruant was great.. The food Delicious though a bit pricey, well worth the $$.

We had a second part to our trip, and stayed in a 5 star resort..... this place made it look like a motel six.

Room Tip: Go for the Jr. Suite... you will oove it.

I am not one to look for the fancy hotel when traveling, but I have to thank my wife for picking this one for our recent trip to Costa Rica. The pools are heated by volcanic hot springs, the open air lobby is amazing, the buffet breakfast was good and plentiful, and the location is perfect for adventure around Arenal during the day and a short drive in to La Fortuna for dinner or dancing at night. But the staff (and the view of the volcano from the balcony) were the most impressive part. The staff were not only available and friendy, they actually seemed to enjoy their jobs. Ask for something and you here "con gusto" (with pleasure) as they take off to attend to your request. Absolutely amazing.

This was the first stop on our honeymoon. I wasn't sure what to expect, but left very, very pleased. The rooms are very nice. We got the junior suite, and it was pretty much big pimpin. :) Our balconies overlooked the volcano side, and it was pretty surreal. The pool grounds seems small, but trust me, it's all you need. Super clean and enjoyable. The pools are heated by the volcano, and some are crazy hot! Pool bar is a really fun addition. The spa is fantastic -- get the deep tissue. The meals were amazing. We got meals as part of our package, but don't expect "package deal meals" - we got to order off the menu and really enjoyed the selections. Breakfast was terrific; we were always out during the day, and missed lunch. The place is beautiful and very central. They desk will help you set up tours, if you need the help. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

This hotel is beautiful. We were greeted at the front desk with hot towels for hands/face and cold guava juice drinks. The hot pools here were stunning, with lots of choices in temperatures and types of pools. Our room was large and lovely and the maids went out of their way to meet our needs. The restaurants were expensive so we chose meals from the bar menus, which were better priced. I was there with my teenage son and we both loved the place and would want to go back.
