“Enjoyed Arenal Hanging Bridges with Canoa Aventura”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

While staying in La Fortuna area, my husband and I booked the Hanging Bridges tour through our hotel on the spur of the moment, early in the morning, and were the only two people on that hike. Our guide, Alfredo, was knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke English very well. We were able to see plenty of wildlife, including howler monkeys, a sloth, a blue jeans frog, and four eyelash vipers of different colors. The hike itself is easy and enjoyable, and the panoramic view from the highest bridge is quite spectacular. I only wish we had spent more time in the forest!

“Sights of Costa Rica”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

Very enjoyable excursion, when doing this float trip you see so many different animals and birds that you would never see in a normal outing. The guides and boat drivers are very informative ; they can spot animals that you would never see if they were not there to help you out. Even the lunch was great, had a wonderful time.

“Excellent Tours with Great Guides”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

Enjoyed two excellent tours while in the Arenal area. The Cano Negro wildlife boat tour was awesome, with three different species of monkeys and a lot of different birds, along with caimans. The all-day Arenal combo tour included hanging bridges, Fortuna Waterfall, lunch, Arenal volcano hike, and Tabacon Hot Springs. A busy, full-day. Be aware at the waterfall that it is really 500 steps back up, some very steep. The guides are terrific (we had Alfred and Maria)!!!

“Such a great way to spend a beautiful day!”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

We took the float trip on the river and really enjoyed it!! Our guide, Rudy, made the trip fun, informative and entertaining!! He is full of facts and knowledge.....besides that, he would do anything to ensure us seeing as many animals along the way as possible!!! He would catch a glimpse of something and he'd jump into the water and walk in deep thick mud to help us to see the sloth he saw up in the tree!!! He was fearless! We saw and heard holler monkeys, crocodile,Jesus christ lizards, iguanas, birds and of course, 2 sloths!! So nice and compassionate with Don Pedro and his daughters when we visited their home along the way!! What a wonderful experience we had! Thank you!

“Terrible! Worst trip ever!”
Reviewed July 5, 2012 via mobile

We went on the "cano negro canoe trip" With canoa adventura which ended up being a total waste of a day. First of all, it took twice as long to get there as it said in the trip details. After three hrs sitting on a bus with a tour guide who would not shut up for one second, a maniac behind the wheel and wondering if we were going to live to see another day we finally got to the river. However, it was the rio frio and not actually in the wildlife refuge that we were supposed to go to and instead of the canoes that we were expecting, it was an old motorized p.o.s. boat. After another couple hours of absolutely zero excitement we were fed a mediocre lunch and made our three hour trek back to the hotel. The way back was worse than the way there and we could not run off that bus any faster. If you want to waste your money and an entire day of your vacation then this tour is the trip for you. Otherwise, skip it!

Dear Customer
Caño Negro by canoe tour is a wonderful and easy trip to enjoy, exploring the nature combine with unique landscapes of the ¨Rio Frío¨ which is a very calm water river; it make the wildlife observation an amazing experience because you you have the chance to stir the canoe very close to the animals such as monkeys, caimans, iguanas, sloths and many others including a wide variability of residents and migratory birds. we finish with a delicious typical Costa Rican lunch in Las Heliconias restaurant at los Chile’s town. thanks, Canoa Aventura Team.
