“Perfect Place for Families”
Reviewed January 24, 2007

We have just returned from a 5 week family adventure in Costa Rica. Our time spent at La Terraza and their Mountain Home Rental was one of the highlights of our trip. Jeanetta and Charles were so inviting we immediately felt at home. Our children were given the patience and guidance needed to enjoy their surroundings. Jeanetta and Charles were able to balance our enthusiastic children with the serene, tranguil environment as only experienced parents could. It was simply relaxing and the service and food were excellent.

Not only is La Terraza perfect for families, so is Grecia. We felt very safe and the people were all very friendly. We were able to see the "heart" of Costa Rica from this convenient location. Day trips to Volcan Poas, La Paz, Abajo del Toro, Zarcero, etc. were easy and scenic. We were right in the center of coffee and sugar plantations, rolling hills, mountains and valleys and abundant wildlife.

We highly recommend La Terraza.

If you are looking for a safe, friendly, convenient, welcoming place to stay with children - La Terraza is definitely it!

Being a medical professional---dentist---I am aware of the full range of possibilities to the traveler. La Terraza is a jewel.

Two Nebraskans, Charles and Jeanetta Owens, have created the quintessential tourist oasis. Their Bed and Breakfast is not billed as a destination resort, and is not in the strictest sense, yet is "de facto."

My wife, Vicki, a university dean, and I actually changed our schedule to spend two of our six days at La Terraza lounging on our terrace, listening to the creek that curls around the property, while enjoying the fresh breezes.

The rooms would probably pass USA OSHA dental operating room standards---yes, they are that clean!

The tropical grounds surrounding the property are also extremely well manicured and gorgeous.

By the way, if this sounds like a canned commercial, it is not! Jeanetta has my phone number for anyone who would like to confirm this information with me.

I would return in a heartbeat...by the way, Charles has an excellent jazz collection, and a gorgeous pool table that he kindly lets novices win on.

In a nutshell, this B&B has the best service and cleanliness I've ever encountered.

What a neat experience - we were welcomed with a home-cooked meal after a long day of traveling and sightseeing and found Jeanetta and Charles to be most agreeable hosts - helpful and informative and most kind. I look forward to staying at La Terraza again in the near future.

We had a wonderful time with the staff and guests during our numerous drop in visits.
We were always welcomed, usually unannounced, yet greeted with open arms and a delicious hot meal.

First of all we were greeted at the gate by Charles & Jeanetta, who treated us like family. We were shown to our room, which was the upper of the two story guest quarters at the back of the property, the front being the main house where they are currently living. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We had arrived a bit late from Atenas, so we settled in for a bit, and then Jeanetta called us and asked if we'd like something to eat, which was prepared by thier cook from all fresh items. After lunch we sat on the back porch area and just talked untill almost 7 p.m., then we went down and enjoyed the jaccuzi in the beautiful gardens before going to bed. We got a great nights sleep, as the area was very quiet. The next day we had breakfast with then and they took us on a short tour of some housing that was available for rental in the Grecia area so that we could get a feel of the town and the surroundings. The stay was just like being with close friends or family, they provided a personal touch that made the experiance so much more enjoyable than we have had at other places. We also learned quite a lot about them, and the Grecia area too and will reccomend them highly. Dana & Ann Johnson, Santa Rosa, CA

I stayed for a week at the end of August; arrived in the afternoon to find lunch waiting for me! Cristina serves a wonderful breakfasts, both American and Tico, loads of fresh fruit! Extremely clean (saw Xinia cleaning the balcony railings one morning!) Hi speed internet + wireless access. The place is beautiful; Carlos keeps it parklike with love and care. Great bird and squirrel (they're not American squirrels!) sightings right from my balcony. Very safe and secure - left my laptop in my room daily. Jeanetta is a great hostess. I can't say enough good about the place. Stay there! You won't be sorry!

We never thought we were going to have such of a wonderful time at La Terraza B & B. We went for 3 days and stayed the shole week. What a relaxing place, just leasening to the river at night was out of this world. Jeametta is increadible, a beautiful human being, and her staff is fantastic, always ready to please you. We miss those breakfasts so much, Kristina is the best cooker, rated #1. We didn't miss home at all. We recommend La Terraza B & B to anyone that is planning to travel to Grecia, Costa Rica, you'll never forget this place and his people. The Ramirez from Miramar, Florida
