Stayed her with my parents on a short trip. The hosts organized tours to Poas, La Paz, and a Canopy run. The stay at this hotel was very nice and quiet in the evenings. Woke up everyday to a great breakfast and a plan to do something each day. The hosts and family were always available for any questions or help. We will come back here again!

For the price of this hotel it is not worth it! We had a reservation and showed up at night and it took them about 10 minutes to open the door. The shower was freezing cold, no shampoo. The sink had no hot water and was spraying everywhere. The beds were not clean. The big window in our room had a huge street lamp shining into our room making it impossible to make the room dark. We asked for a wake up call at 4:45 but didn't receive one until 5:25. Breakfast was supposed to be included but there was no mention of it when we left early that morning. This hotel is not worth it.

My husband and I stayed here for the night before our 6 am flight out of Costa Rica. We picked a wonderful place. Prefect for what we needed. It was clean, comfortable and they drove us to the airport at 4 am! We were really happy here.
It’s a great stop-over place.

I returned with friends to SMI for the second time on a short 4 day stay. The hosts were great in organizing short trips which included zip line (canopy), Poas volcano, La Paz waterfalls, and Jaco. They even got us tickets for a soccer game. Very friendly staff with a nice breakfast.

Parking is difficult, barely any service after-hours, they claim they have an airport service -but will charge you for picking you up from a rental car place which is on the way to the airport. Our room was really really small, with barely enough place to walk around the bed. The bathroom had rusted fixtures. Wanted to give them two stars.. Would not stay here again. Hampton near the airport is a better bet ! No pool or fitness center. Internet connection was terribly slow.

Room Tip: Stay away ..

Our hosts saved our trip! The rental car agency gave away our car despite the fact that we had made a reservation. When all of the rental agencies were saying that they could not help us, our hosts pulled some strings and managed to get us a car for the whole week. They let us leave some of our overflow luggage at the hotel for a whole week to pick up when we returned to the hotel at the end of the trip. Our hosts were very friendly, accomodating, and helpful in giving recommendations.
The hotel is clean and very secure. It is very close to the airport as well. Breakfast was nice. Wi-fi was a plus. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a room in the capitol.

Stayed there for one night coming into Costa Rica. The hotel itself is in average shape for a costa rican hotel- the floors were a bit dirty, the shower had very low water pressure (no pressure at all, just water falling from the shower head), the sink had no hot water at all. Beds were simple and basic. Couldn't get internet to work. It wasn't "hard" to find but you will have to travel a few miles outside of town and turn down a small and dark road to get to the hotel. The staff was fantastic though, very helpful and friendly, and would probably have done whatever they could to amend the situation but we arrived late and were leaving early the next morning so I really didn't have time to try and address the problems.
I had a family of 6 and we all wanted to stay in one room and I didn't want any airport noise, and this place had a room that would fit 6 and also moved in a sleeper sofa at my request. So I decided to skip the hotels next to the airport. I'm not sorry I did, the hotel was fine, but if you are picking an overnight hotel its probably easier and simpler to just pick one of the major chain hotels next to the airport. However, if you need some flexibility or don't want the big chain then this hotel would be a fine choice.
