This is my 2nd time staying here. I live in CR and it is hard to find a decent place, in a quiet neighborhood yet close enough to airport. Vida Tropical BB is great! There are no buses that start at 4am, no noisy horns and still only 10minutes from the airport. This weekend, we stayed there because of a sports event. The owner was in town and offered to make us a packed breakfast as they do for guests who leave early for the airport. What a nice surprise this was as we almost always miss breakfast because we leave early. it consisted of a juice box, Nature Valley fruit and nut cereal bar, bananas complete with napkins. He also helped me at 5am to put bikes on my bike rack. I've yet to find a hotel/hostel/B&B like Vida Tropical ... friendly, customer service orientated, clean, quiet and all at a great price. Stay here, you won't be disappointed.

We stayed at Vida Tropical for our first two nights and our last night; and we stopped in to pick up our excessive luggage in between those times when we arrived back from Drake Bay. We chose Vida Tropical because of its close proximity to the airport for both International flights and Sansa flights.
Isabella, the manager was so very helpful and extremely polite and we had lovely chats with her as she attempted to answer our numerous tourist questions. She booked a tour for us and allowed us to store our luggage while we took a few days away to Drake Bay where luggage restrictions apply on flights.
The place is nothing fancy but its clean, a good location and very reasonably priced. You do need to share bathrooms though, which is fine if you you give yourself enough time. We never tasted breakfast though as our first morning we left early for a tour that included breakfast and our last morning we flew out so early we were given a bagged breakfast which we much appreciated!
Highly recommended.

I stayed here for one night during my trip to CR. It's a nice house Turned B&b. They have this adorable bunny and her babies that are domesticated living in the backyard too! My room (Terrace room) was small but had all I needed. A nice, comfy, clean bed, night stand, T.V., nice view out the window, ceiling fan and a tower fan in the corner. Just outside my room I could hang out on the balcony, which has 2 hammocks and a table with chairs and of course a lovely view. They give you a key to the front door and your room so you can come and go as you please. The manager is very nice and helped me figure out how to get to a restaurant, ordered my cab for the morning and let me use her skype to call home!
They have breakfast there, which I have heard good things about but missed since I had to leave so early. However, they personally woke me up at 4 in the morning and packed me a snack bar, banana and juice for breakfast. You don't get that kind of service many places! There is a computer available for guests' use, as well as a kitchen area and dining area that guests have full use of. They also have tons of information on local activities and a wall dedicated to money from around the world. It is very cool!
Very nice staff, clean, comfortable hotel and priced pretty awesome as well - Pretty hard to beat!

We opted to stay here twice after we saw great reviews and booked on Air BnB. Glad we did! It was convenient for us to stay here after spending time in the La Fortuna/Arenal area and then were catching an early flight from Pavas Airport on Nature Air to Bocas del Toro, Panama. Since we had one day in between Bocas and returning to the states, we chose to stay here again. Both rooms we had were clean and had comfy beds. The people we met were also very friendly so it added to the atmosphere. Prices were decent if traveling on a budget! I say "yes!"

The neighbor hood was a nice and quiet spot. The choices for breakfast were good. There were 6 different types of options (e..g. pancakes, omelettes, typical Tico, etc). This is not a 'Cute' B&B. There are a number of rooms in the house and it can be quite noisy for such a small home. The bathroom in the house is shared between the guests. This is more of a feeling of visiting somebody else's house. (e.g. main TV is on cartoons for the owners child, we were asked to vacate living room, then bedroom the next morning so maid could clean).

We appreciate your comments and the compliments on the breakfast, and yes, when we have a full house it can be noisy. Last night we had 15 teenagers from Portland on a school trip, but they had the whole place, so they did not bother anyone. Regarding the pushy, we requested that you
pack your bags by checkout time as agreed, and that you could stay as long as you wanted, but we needed to clean the room. We did have to remind you more than once as checkout time of 11 came and went, and our husekeeper leaves at noon. Re the main breakfast area, we have 4 different lounge areas (a lot for such a small house), but the one which needs most cleaning is the breakfast area, and we had to clean around you, after suggesting you move to another area. Regarding the TV, it was a Saturday morning and Nico spends them with his Mom, our manager,
and he has been told not to watch TV in the main area when there are guests there, but he forgets, I don´t like to listen to cartoons, either, but I loved them as a kid. Please accept our apologies if we seemed pushy, we are really quite laid back.

Conveniently located near the international airport, $7 or $8 by taxi. Vida Tropical is used mostly by travelers who need a place to stay when flying in late in the evening or departing early in the morning. Breakfast is exceptional with several menu choices. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Value is there as a well. I paid $35/night high season for small room next to shared bathroom.
