A beautiful place to stay for one night and more. We appreciate the courtesy of the canadians owners, we met only the young wowan but she was very fine. Much more quieter than any place we tried before and we strongly recommand it.

We stayed here our first and last night. It is quiet and clean. Robert and his wife(sorry I didn't get your name) were very helpful. They arranged airport transportation for us and even kept the rental car keys for us so the company could pick up the car. She helped us negotiate our rental contract also.
We were allowed to put beer and wine in the fridge with sodas for sale.
The pool looked nice but we never had a chance to use it.

Hotel La Rosa De America is the perfect place to start and end your stay in Costa Rica. this place is close enough to the airport that you can be there in minutes, yet far enough to be away from the noise. It is kind of hidden in an out of the way street but the taxis have no problem finding it. We like the area because it was safe.
Our Canadian hosts were very helpful with information and the purchasing of bus tickets for us.
What a great pool and beautiful grounds. We spent a day here just relaxing before heading home. The place is really clean and the breakfasts are delicious. There is no restaurant for evening meals but there are a few within a 5 to 10 minute walk.
Yes, we will definitely make this one of our hotels whenever we are in Costa Rica.

Hotel Rosa de Americana was the perfect place to end our stay in Costa Rica and make us feel like we were still on vacation!

Robert and his staff were extremely hospitable and helpful in pointing us to a great local restaurant for our last dinner in the county as well as helping us figure out how to get a meal “to go” before heading to the airport in a county that doesn’t really do take out. Our room was the only one that didn’t have a safe in the room and we were able to leave our valuables locked at the front desk without a problem.

The one thing is that this place is a bit hard to get to without a car if you are taking Interbus (we were coming from Manual Antonio). The buses won’t come directly here, so you have to go to the airport or one of the airport hotels and get a cab. Robert’s directions were very helpful in this regard, particularly in knowing how much to expect to have to pay, but we had a bit of a hard time because it is technically outside of “Alajuela” and the cab driver wasn’t happy taking us there (despite us telling him exactly where it was and showing him on the map, he still thought it was in town and then got made when it was farther away).

Robert also helped us get a cab to the airport and ensure that the cab driver wouldn’t attempt to rip us off, by making sure we new which way he should go including a stop at the mall for our food!

It turned out that having access to the free internet was a lifesaver for us as well. We were scheduled to come home in the middle of a snowstorm so we were able to use the computer to keep track of the storm and book a hotel in our connecting city. It definitely made us feel better knowing we would have a place to stay if we were stranded and couldn’t make it home.

In all, this is a good place to stay on a first or last night. The accommodations are basic, but clean. The breakfast was fine, but not the best we had in Costa Rica. But, the friendly and extremely helpful owners and staff make it well worth your while. It probably would have been even more helpful for a first night if you are looking for advice about the country or things to do in the area.

Positives: Clean, close to airport. Breakfast included. Nice grounds
Negative: Tour company does not come to the hotel. You have to pay extra money to taxi to go to another hotel for them to pick you up. That would have been helpful to know.

We would like to express our thanks, first and foremost for this guest taking the time to write comments about our hotel and we are happy that they found the most important attributes of our hotel, those of location, cleanliness, beauty and tranquility to be as good or better than their expectations.
Unfortunately, with respect to the pickup locations of the tours, we can do nothing to compel the companies to pick up at our hotel. (and we have tried!) Perhaps, the frustration of the guest would better be directed towards the tour companies who refuse to pick up at the majority of the Alajuela airport region hotels.
We will ensure for future guests that our reception staff emphasis the fact that there may be a taxi fee (between $2 and $11) additional to the tour cost.
We sell tours and rent vehicles only as a free service to our guests using third party service providers that are in no way linked to the hotel. We only recommend tours that we have personally done and enjoyed to determine quality and suitability. Though we try our best to help guests choose the tour that is best for their needs, we can not guarantee the experience will be in line with the guest's expectations as we are not the service provider.
It is unfortunate the guest was not aware of the taxi ride to the pickup point. To ensure better clarity for new guests the hotel will do it's best to ensure this information is emphasized in guest emails requesting tour bookings.
Again, we appreciate the feedback and though it is unfortunate that the guests did not enjoy the entire tour experience, we are pleased that they enjoyed our hotel.
