it was okay. it was a one night layover after a long journey so we survived. breakfast was ok. internet was not great. room was comfortable. wish they had an exhaust fan in the bathroom.

We stayed here the night we arrived and the night we left Costa Rica. Great idea to get a good night's sleep and calm down before starting and ending the vacation. They have a shuttle to pick you up and drop you off at the airport right as you exit the airport and comes and goes every 15 minutes. Economy and Thrifty (dont recall the others) car rentals are literally 1 minute walk away from the hotel. Great breakfast and free international calls from your room.

This is a typical American hotel, which was a bit of a downer after having an authentic Costa Rican holiday (staying in a jungle lodge). However, the rooms were clean, the beds were very nice (after staying in the jungle lodge!). The reason we stayed here was because it is <5 minute (free) shuttle from the airport (which runs every 15 minutes, 24hrs a day), and for the breakfast. Unfortunately, if you stay here on the weekend and need to catch a flight before 6am, you don't get any breakfast (except for coffee/tea and whole fruit). In the parking lot is a Denny's (yeah, I came all the way to Costa Rica to eat at Denny's!!), and Rosti Pollo (Costa Rican roast chicken chain), which is where we ate, the food was good. The pool is really small. They had ethernet only free internet (what about wifi!?!?!, you are out of luck if you have a wifi smart phone or iTouch/iPad), The business center (2 pc's & printer) was busy, but I managed to get in and print off my board passes. You can also pay the $26pp departure tax at the hotel (they will charge you $31/pp), which we did since we heard the line-ups at the airport can be huge. Can't imagine many Costa Rican's would stay here, it was mostly Americans, Canadians, and Europeans, so it would have been nice to have some English TV channels (for the kids). I had an Avis car rental (which was 5 miles away), but they dropped me off at the hotel (there are a couple of car rental places across the parking lot, which would have been much more convenient). Overall the price was high for Costa Rica (we stayed at La Boruca on the way in, and I wish I stayed there on my last night as well), but it's very close to the airport, and with a 7:40am flight and 2 young children, I just didn't want to get up any earlier than I had too. It's nice to have 24hr coffee/tea and fruit, but breakfast should be available before 6am on weekends!!

We stayed here for 1 night upon our arrival and the night before our flight home. It is a great choice. Room was clean quiet very secure, breakfast was fine shuttle was great!

the Hampton (Hilton) is by far the best place to stay for those late arrivals and early departures. It's right next to the airport, but very quiet. The rooms are big, the beds are comfy, and the staff very helpful. Car rentals are right next door as is the finest Dennys I have erver seen (next door, just inside the Casino). Two minutes to the airport by their shuttle.
