Great little house with beautiful grounds and garden. Very moving and historic. Well worth the drive to see.

I had been here when i was a child, and have always been fascinated by Helen Keller. But today, we went back, expecting a tour, which we paid for, it was about 20.00 for four people.
What we got, consisted of about three minutes of information, and a piece of paper. The guide, was very elderly, and obviously had some type of dementia and kept repeating herself over and over. I realize she could not help this, but they need to have somebody that is worth paying the money for a tour, she did not even come upstairs, or do or much of anything, except say how pretty Helen Keller was. I was hugely disappointed that we got no more information on Helen Keller than we did.

I would love to go back, if we had a good tour guide.

Plan to take the tour as you cannot walk the grounds without the tour. Ivy Green is interesting and refreshes memories of a remarkable woman and her teacher

.....well worth the time. Lovely grounds and information about this remarkable woman and her caretakers and family. You can spent as much or as little time enjoying the lovely grounds and pieces of HK's history and life as you wish.

Enlightening and enjoyable.

Within 50 minutes of our motel in Decatur, Al and easy to find. Helen Kellers birth place and childhood home hold a most interesting story of her successful life. Because of Helen many many people with physical challenges are able to move on in live with great accomplishments.
