We were staying at the Hampton Inn next door. We had just arrived in Tuscaloosa after a long plane trip and we were famished. My 17 y/o daughter and I decided to try Baumhower's and we are really glad we did. We had a great server from UA, named Tyler who suggested different entrees since we were clueless about where to start with such a big menu. We decided to share cheese fries, pot roast and the fried banana pudding. We were really hungry and we still had a lot of cheese fries left over. The fried banana pudding was so good that the next night we ordered wings, mashed potatoes and another fried banana pudding. We had it delivered to the hotel since it was raining...I love the dessert as much the second time as I did the first. We were in town to tour UA and the folks at Baumhower's did a great job in making us feel welcome to the area.

All the food (appetizer, entree, dessert) was DELISH!!! Not a quite fine-dining place, but the quality of the food way outways giving that up.

We ate here because we were staying at the hotel next door and I was exhausted from driving and refused to get back in the car. (No, really....that is why!) NOT a disappointment! My son LOVED it and even tweeted that it was one of the best decisions of his life! (That might be a little much...but oh well!) Don't miss the Cheese Fries!!! They were wonderful. He had a burger and really liked it. I had the gumbo and a side salad....probably wouldn't get them again, but definitely be back!!! OH!!! And if you go....be forewarned....their menu is more like a BOOK!!!! Take your reading glasses and TAKE YOUR TIME or you might miss something like I did the Fried Banana Pudding!!!!!

Went to Baumhower's on Iron Bowl weekend to exxperience Tuscaloosa at its best. Famous for its wings, we had the wings, Fried green tomatoes, fried catfish, hush-puppies.

Wings were good...but were smallish and not all that. best I've ever had was Hamburger Hamlet in L.A....and these weren't close.

The tomatoes, catshish and hush puppies were good...however the fried banana pudding was to die for.

This is a fun sports bar setting...its loud - lots of choices on the menu...and reccomended!

had the chance to eat here while staying in the adjacent hotel. We are usually put off with restaurants adjoining hotels but this place was highly recommended by hotel staff. Bama decor was a great intro to our visit to U of A. Our server was very friendly and had great advice on what to order, as well as being a student at the school. Variety of wings were impressive and the wings themselves were well above average. Fried banana pudding was a great end to our meal. Will definitely return on our next visit.
