Stayed at this new Hilton hotel for the weekend. The hotel was extremely modern, clean and although was sold out for the weekend we couldn't hear anyone through the walls. What a nice change from other hotel stays. There was a full sized refrigerator, microwave as well as dishes and utensils. The beds and the linens were spectacularly comfortable.
The staff couldn't have been more professional, friendly and accommodating. Brian the hotel manager and Clay who worked at the front desk (along with all the other employees) went above and beyond. They really couldn't have been any nicer.
We've never been to Alabama before and because of the Southern Hospitality shown to us by the outstanding staff at the Home2Suites in Tuscaloosa we are certainly going back!

Reviewing Home2Suites gives me mixed emotions because I'd love to keep this place a secret so I can stay here again in the future. I have a feeling once this hotel is "discovered" I won't be able to get a reservation, which can be a real challenge in Tuscaloosa throughout the school year. Suffice it to say this is a gem of a hotel, and will always be my first choice in the future.
The hotel is new (as of April, 2015 I was told by management), located downtown, across the street from the new Embassy Suites. The check in process was quick and efficient and friendly. Self parking is around the back of the hotel. The elevators require you to use your room key to activate it (nice security touch). The room we were given (311) is HUGE, with 2 extremely comfortable queen beds (I am going to order the sheets they use--so soft), and a sofa sitting area. The wall opposite the beds is lined with built in cabinets/drawers and has the longest amount of counter space I've ever seen in a hotel. There is also a kitchen area with a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and plates. The bathroom is sleek and modern, with a european style double flush button on the toilet. There are many nice touches: lots of electrical outlets for charging things, located at a close distance to the beds (no scrounging around looking for outlets), containers for recycling trash, and a curtain that can be pulled to separate the sitting area from the sleeping area. This is a great place for an extended stay if someone needs one. As I said, this will be my first choice on my next trip to Tuscaloosa.

I was drawn to this hotel because of the awesome price and because it is brand new. The location is wonderful and centrally located to UA's campus. Upon arrival, a nice young man named Brian was working at the desk. He was so helpful and shook my hand when thanking me for choosing this hotel. Southern hospitality is not lost! The rooms are very spacious, but the full sized fridge and dishwasher were a huge plus. The beds are AMAZING. I felt like I was on a cloud! One night around 10:30, my toilet was not flushing properly, so I called downstairs to ask for help. A young man named Clay was there in minutes and fixed the problem. I was so appreciative, because changing rooms that late at night would have been very difficult. I plan to return to this hotel every time I have conferences at UA.
