I thought the hotel was very clean overall. The room decor seemed a bit outdated but nice. The pool a saline pool so no bad chlorine smell. Liked that alot. The workout room was very small but the lobby was charming!! Very nice stay.

We have stayed at this hotel before and when I walked in, I remembered that it has the smallest elevator ever! They have upgraded the carpet in the hallways. But the lighting is so dark, so it makes you wonder what they are trying to hide. Also, EVERY member of staff is CONSTANTLY asking you if your room is ok, can they help you, to the point of annoying! At breakfast, we were leaving so when looking in the small fridge for something quick, the breakfast lady hovered around me continually asking if she could help me. Understanding that they may have had some bad reviews in the past has caused them to be OVERLY questioning and it's very annoying. Rooms are adequate, but the toilet seat was loose and the bathroom door is too large and doesn't open correctly. Almost knock myself out with the door bouncing off the doorstop in the bathroom. Our findings are that Fairfield Inns do not necessarily measure up what we expect with the Marriott reputation.

Room Tip: A bit out of the way,

When we arrived with our big load a gentleman and gal (Regina) helped us with the doors. Nice to be welcomed. I can't remember the young man's name, but he was super friendly and helpful. Our room was good and clean. We stayed two days and the service was exceptional. Regina was especially helpful and friendly! I would give service a 6 if I could. The 4 star comes from the price. Crazy to spend what we did for this room, but we were tired and apparently they can get it for this room. We usually get so much more, room and facility wise for so much less. We didn't eat breakfast because we prefer fresh whole foods. The pool area was clean but small and same for exercise room.

Marriott now charges 20,000 Reward points to stay at Fairfield Inn, so we decided to pay $130 cash for the room instead to the Reward equivalent of $700 in points. It was a clean hotel with a nice breakfast and very convenient to our work in Tuscaloosa but our room was on the front of the hotel next to an Interstate highway. It was noisy all the time. When we tried to go to sleep, it was noisy and we woke up at various times throughout the night because of the traffic noise.

The staff was kind and helpful, but we arrived late at night to nearly full hotel, so they could not change us. All in all, it was a pleasant stay, but the next evening we stayed at a great Hyatt Place for only 7,000 points versus 20,000 Reward points for the Fairfield Inn.

Room Tip: Marriott is charging a very high premium for the use of its Reward Points. 20,000 points for a Fair...

Besides being a great deal as we visited U of Alabama, the staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean. In running into many of the staff around the hotel, we could not say a bad thing about anyone. The overnight manager was extremely kind and helpful to us, as it was our first time in the area. If our daughter decides to go to Alabama, we would definitely utilize this hotel. Additionally, the breakfast had a pretty wide variety.

We were just traveling through and wanted convenience to the highway and good Marriott experience. First, the staff was outstanding. Efficient, very friendly, and attentive - more like what you experience at a more upscale brand. Second, the room was clean and well layed out. I didn't like the TV being bolted to the desktop, but the room, while very near the highway, was also quiet. Third, the complimentary breakfast was very good. Good yoghurt, eggs (scrambled and hard boiled), bacon, cereals and 'toast-able' items, plus more of the attentive staff. It didn't hurt that it wasn't crowded, as there were not a lot of tables.

We didn't get to use the indoor pool, as we got in later than expected, but it is smallish, right near the elevator and front desk, and generally looked clean. Also, parking is very convenient and close-at-hand. All in all, a very good experience.

Room Tip: Not a lot of variety - perhaps make sure the desk staff knows you have kids to ensure the (very slig...

My husband and I recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn while in town for the first annual Bama Brew & Que BBQ Cook Off.

The Fairfield was clean and convenient. No problems, good night sleep and decent breakfast.
