“No where close to a real La Quinta”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

Where do I start? This motel was laid out like a Super 8 or Days Inn. All the rooms opened to the outside, no elevators, but then it was only 2 stories. Breakfast was pretty much nothing but carbs. Cable TV and internet were down when we checked in. TV came back on later in the day but the internet never worked the 2 days we were there. I went to the lobby to complain about it and the clerk ignored me and kept checking people, even the ones that came in after I was there. Roofers working on the building starting early in the morning. No USA Today even though they were supposed to. Bathroom (shower & toilet) was a 5 x 5 foot square. Ice machine was usually empty. I can't believe that La Quinta hasn't pulled their franchise name off this dump. Never again!!!!!

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!!!!

Even though we traveled without our dogs, I love the idea of them being allowed to stay in our room. The hotel is undergoing renovations which did not affect our stay at all. Located right off of the interstate, the hotel is not located near very many restaurants. There was a chinese restaurant next door (horrible) and a Hardees down the street.

I was pleasantly surprised by just how nice this lodging was. We just needed a stop of place to rest and this certainly provided what we needed. I almost did not stay because of some bad reviews. I had absolutely no problems with anything. I was surprised that there are bad reviews. I found none of the negative comments to be true in the room I occupied. I loved the staff, my room was not only clean, it smelled fresh. I have stayed in high end rooms that weren't this clean and fresh. Great place to stay for the money!!

Noisy room, air conditioner made noise and too much wind. Room smelled of smoke. Wi-fi problems every day. Room had too few electrical outlets. Bathroom/dressing are were both too small. Worst continental breakfast ever.

Typically we've had good experiences with La Quinta but the Tuscaloosa, AL location fell way below La Quinta's standards. - We received the military discount room rate which was $58 a night. We're grateful that La Quinta acknowledges military and retirees but at the same time, if we paid anymore for our room it would have been a poor value. - Upon arrival, the front desk clerk was friendly enough. The hotel structure is old and shows it. There was obvious construction going on judging by the full dumpster parked near the pool. Location wise, the hotel is easy off/on the interstate but it's like traveling a maze to get to as it's situated behind some old businesses and the area itself lacks eye appeal. The bed & pillows were comfortable, housekeeping is falling short on the cleaning side of things. There was dust build up in obvious, easy to see/reach places and floor tile and tub didn't appear to have been cleaned. The breakfast was okay but didn't provide the variety as claimed. Overall, it isn't a bad place for under $60 a night but travelers should bear in mind that this particular location is not up to La Quinta's usual standards

Room Tip: If you're a traveler with higher standards than what I've posted, then check out other area...

Have stayed at La Quinta in other locations and had pleasant stays. This was not the case here. The hotel is in a run down area surrounded by empty businesses and the hotel was under going renovation. The parking lot was deplorable with pot holes in abundance. Overall very uninviting. Employees were not attentive to customer requests.

I did contact the GM and received an apology.

Have dogs and travel. I stay at La Quinta because it's a no brainer-they're all pet friendly, nice, provide breakfast, easy to book and locate on a smartphone and quality is consistent. This property listed a very competitive rate... You get what you pay for.

It is really a motel in configuration and definitely feels like a bargain motel off the interstate. Wifi did not work. When I went to call the desk, the phone didn't work either!

Cleanliness, again like a cheap motel. Cigarette butts on walkway.

Office staff nice. Rite Aid near.
