“Better location than a food destiantion”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

Well.... I'm always careful to be too judgmental while being realistic about managements ability to deliver a great food experience. Having added those footnotes, the restaurant had a large group in the main part of the place. The main area seemed to have all of the ambiance as we were seated in a side area which did have a view of the river but felt like the solarium of an old hotel. The food was fairly basic- just serve some protein and add a sauce. The wait staff looked unprepared and had a lack of knowledge of what the specials were. I'm not sure why its gets the rating it does except for folks having low expectations .

“Beautiful view, okay food.”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

Try to get a seat near the windows so you can enjoy the lovely river views. The menu is very heavy on the fried foods, and portion sizes go a long way towards explaining the high obesity rate in Tuscaloosa! Not too many healthy menu choices, but they will take special requests, especially on their fresh fish of the day. We managed to get some steamed with fresh vegetables, once we explained how we wanted it cooked. Friendly servers. The drinks menu is heavy on beer and bad domestic wines. Desserts are huge, enough for 3-4 (normal size) people.

“Good food, great location”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Great place to go after work, have a drink, app, or diner on the water. Menu items and specials very good. Wait staff attentive, but not constantly in your face. Lunch is very crowded so if you only have an hour it's tough to get seated and served in that time.

“Consistent, delicious, and has a great view!”

I've been going to Cypress Inn for years and it has continually proven to have good service and above par food. It's price range is appropriate for the type of dishes it serves and its staff are friendly! Definitely a good choice for Tuscaloosans.

“Wow, great food looking out upon a gorgeous river.”
Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

This was my third dining opportunity. I so enjoy their freshly baked breads. Then the catfish and glass of glorious sweet tea make this one of the best dining locations in Tuscaloosa. I so enjoyed the evening. I carried out a couple of their delicious muffins for later.
