Food is wonderful. Wait is tolerable. There is no space in this little shack.

The official name is "Nick's Fillet House" but locals affectionately call it "Nick's in the Sticks" and driving there you'll see why! You won't just stumble across Nick's because it is so far off the beaten path but you will not be disappointed once you get there. The building is a small cinder block building with just one small dining area but the atmosphere is great. The ceiling is littered with dollar bills that have personal messages on them. They have a special drink called the "Nickademus" and it's what people come for other than the steaks.

Nick's in the sticks is a good place to grab a good filet at a great price with the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. Service isn't their calling card but the prices should make that a bit easier to handle.

I started eating Nick's over 30 years ago and I have never been disapointed. Small and crowded, but you will enjoy a very good steak and the best steak fries. Oh, and did I mention the Zombie? Called Nick's in the Sticks for a reason. Located on the west side at 4018 Culver Rd. Worth the drive.
