Stayed at the Wingate while in town visiting friends from college. Property is right off I-59 in the eastern Tuscaloosa suburbs, which means you're all of five minutes from the University or downtown.
The staff was helpful & friendly; the property was well-kept for one in it's price class. Comfortable, recently renovated rooms with large walk-in showers (which I assume used to be tub/shower combos) and good-sized flat panel TVs. HVAC worked very well and the bed was on par with what I'd expect to find at a Hilton or Hyatt. My king room also had a small refrigerator under the coffee station.
Overall, I'd stay here again next trip.
