Visited as part of a group with a set menu. Ambience in the restaurant is great and for the most part the food was excellent and exteremely well presented. Flavours were really great but the Beef Striploin let the meal down. It was so tough that one of our party only ate about a quarter of it. This is a restaurant that i will return to though.

We booked a reservation here for dinner around lunch time with a very helpful waiter, who still remembered us by name! The venue is very elegant and Asian-inspired, as is the menu. We had the tuna tataki and the salmon salads as starters, both of which were stunningly presented. The tataki was absolutely exquisite - very much recommended! As a main course, we had the sea bass, the suckling pig and the barramundi. Again, the presentation (and the taste) was superb. We didn't have any room left for dessert, unfortunately! As for the service: we had two waiters, who were both very eager to assist us in any way.

The prices were a bit higher than average, but well worth the quality of the food. Overall, this is an excellent restaurant to visit, especially in such a beautiful environment!

The quality of the food here was excellent. Yes, the prices are quite high and if you want to eat cheaply in Shanghai you have thousands of other alternatives but this place is simply a cool place to be with quality food and of course the location in Xintiandi is excellent. There were three of us and all of our starters and main courses were great. My wife and daughter had the Tuna Tataki as starter and found it heavenly.

Reading various reviews about bad service I can only conclude that you all had either bad nights or things have improved. Admittedly we were there on a relatively quiet Tuesday evening but the staff could not have been nicer. Unfortunately we did not get the name but there was a very nice young waiter who really did his utmost to have a conversation in English and was a credit to the establishment.

So don't go if you are feeling stingy but if you want a pleasant ambience with high quality fusion food, give this a try and I don't think you will be disappointed.

Excellent food, fusion food, European prices
Inconsistent service and worse when German/ Austrian manager not there. Not good enough for the price level
Don't push for wine consumption please. Every minute somebody else tries to come and fill up your glass/ empty the bottle.
Have more stability in your serving people, I have the impression that all serving staff is new every time I come
Your online reservation system is bizarre. You reserve on the restaurant site and then get a mail that it is not a reservation.
Strength: food ( quality and consistent good) weakness : service, too amateur, noisy when the place is full
Overall nice atmosphere, though expensive, a good break from all Asian food
Unless you improve your service you do not deserve a better rating

Great atmosphere, but we had a party of 10 and there was much difficulty in keeping up with our beverage service and food ordering. We even had to go find someone ot give us the check....not good service at all.

Food was good, I had the Loin Strip - Medium and it was excellent. The prawm app was overcooked (or previously frozen).

Thank Jamie P
