Great fit out with a vibrant atmosphere.

Food was creative and excellent but they definitely charge you for it and wine is very expensive...

Probably felt the service was inconsistent. Being served at different times by nearly every waiter/waitress is very impersonal and for some reason after giving my credit card to pay the bill it took about 10 minutes for them to process it and return the card which is rediculous.

I would return to give this place another shot as it has a lot going for it.

We dined as a couple on Valentines evening. We went for the special 7 course 'lovebirds' set menu. The interior of the restaurant is stylish and the open kitchen is good to watch. Aside from that, we were extremely disappointed. I left the restaurant feeling surprisingly dissatisfied after many of the courses were only a mouthful. All the seafood was overcooked and one of the courses was merely a small slice of Brie that had been taken straight from the fridge.
The violinist made us feel like we were at a funeral!
If you can go here when they have this sort of thing on special for RMB400, then you'd leave feeling it was adequate.
The manager was a saving grace, being friendly and eager to make our experience a pleasant one. He'd just arrived in the country two weeks prior to our visit.
It was during the Chinese New Year holiday so perhaps we caught them on a bad night. That said, if a restaurant of this level is going to offer a Valentines Day meal, I'd expect it to be one to remember. There are many other options in Shanghai which will deliver a mindblowing meal for the RMB2000 that we spent.

Whenever we have guests in town, this is our first choice of all restaurants. They have the best selection of cuisines and exotic presentations. Wine selections are great too!

We went here on a Monday evening and it was a bit slower, so the staff were very attentive, the restaurant manager came by a few times to check on the food and to chat a bit. Overall the ambience and decor were very nice. We got a great deal on a six-course set menu for 399 RMB my making a reservation on diningcity.com (http://www.diningcity.com/en/shanghai) that's usually priced at 599. The food was quite good, but the dining experience was top notch. The presentation of the food was very nicely done, and the preparation of the sauces and the garnishes were very unique (using chemistry).

We saw the regular menu and it was quite pricey (probably close to 600-800RMB per person for a proper dinner incl. appetizers, mains, desserts and alcohol), but with the set menu, it was terrific value for the price we paid, I would definitely recommend this place if they set menu was a permanent fixture at this restaurant.
