Good cozy food (pizza, pasta, salads) - and even better chocolate. It is a bit small thou, so better book ahead.

Been to Whisk several times but forgot to leave comments. Only saving grace for this cafe is the desserts. Mains are so-so, the wait staff has the most terrible manners! Extremely rude and full of themselves. It's a pity for such an establishment.

I'm a chocolate addict and was delighted to find this little cafe close to a metro station (Changshu Road station). It's tucked back from the street a little so it might be a little hard to find but it's so worth it.

I tried two different desserts, the chocolate tart and something called "Brown Cow and Chicken" or something like that, which is like a creme brûlée but with chocolate inside. Both were excellent. The quality of the chocolate was top-notch, especially for a place in China: thick, rich and chocolatey. It wasn't too sweet either, which I found many places would make their chocolate desserts to hide the lack of cocoa used, so I really appreciated that.

The place is small and crowded and doesn't have the best atmosphere for lingering but I suppose the good quality of its food made up for it. It only takes cash so go prepared.

Whisk is definitely one of my favorite dessert places. In my opinion the cakes are made in a very American style (very sweet and chocolaty) which I happen to like being an American. All of their desserts are excellent but I would say their "Death by Chocolate" is my abosulte favorite. The portion is also quite large so I would recommend it for two.

A couple of annoying things about this restaurant: they do not provide free ice water even in the disgusting hot summers of Shanghai - you have to pay for water, they have a new policy requiring a 40 RMB/person minimum which can be a pain if you are coming for dessert (the staff tried to enforce this policy on me the other day even though it was late and the restaurant was empty). Aside for these annoying things the dessert is fantastic. Also they have good pizzas and other food. If not for these annoying things written above I would be a more regular patron.

Whisk is located in an alley, a bit hard to find. The decor is modern and plain.
Whisk was advertised as a "choco cafe". I was expecting it to have delicious, super chocolatey desserts. It had some chocolate desserts but nothing really outstanding. It's more a cafe that has some chocolate desserts. The cafe food is not bad but nothing extra special.
I was hoping for more on the chocolate side. Still, it's not bad.
