The last review was actually for the Mingtown "Hiker" Hostel not the "Etour", Mingtown has more than one establishment in Shanghai.
The Etour is situated next to the Marriot "Tomorrow Square" and is easily accessible on foot from the People's Square subway station (Exits 9,10 or 11).
We stayed in a Double room with two showers and a toilet shared with two other rooms. All were clean and plenty of hot water.
The room itself was nicely furnished with a lockable storage chest, tv, kettle and cups. Towels and bedding were also included.
The bar area was cozy if a little smokey at times. Perhaps they should consider a smoking section. There was free wifi and cabled access in this area too. Although the connections were very flakey during busy periods.
Food was reasonably priced and very tasty. Beers were seriously cheap at only RMB 8 per big bottle of Tsingtao.
Staff were very helpful and managed reasonable English. They booked our onward train tickets for RMB 30 per ticket, which was much better than facing the crowds at Shanghai's main station!
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to all.More
