“A hotel room with extras”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

This hotel is in a very good place to explore Shanghai as it is near the Peoples Square and the Nanking pedestrian shopping centre. The metro and buses stop at Peoples Square too. The hotel itself has very helpful staff who all speak good English. The room was the size of a typical budget hotel but also had an annexe with fridge, microwave, hot plates, toaster and dishwasher. It was furnished with good quality hardwood furniture with a rosewood floor. The bed was firm but comfortable and the place was clean. Plenty of washing products were provided, including toothbrushes and paste. The coffee, tea, bottled water and dishwasher powder were replenished daily. Shangkai is a noisy city as the cars hoot their horns constantly but we could on just hear it as we were on the 11th floor (of I think 18). Breakfast was a buffet and had slightly different items available on each day. There was plenty to cater for all tastes including cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, cold meats, hot items for European and Chinese clients.
A strange feature is that only one breakfast voucher is provided per room but another can be purchased on the day for the equivalent of about £6. In brief this hotel was in a good position, is clean and has helpful staff. The extra facilities can be helpful for preparing the odd snack.
The best way of getting to the hotel from the airport is probably by taxi which will cost less than £20. The metro is cheaper but the station is a bit of a distance from the airport. Co not end up as we did getting a hire car at the airport thinking it is a taxi. It will cost you around £50. The car firms will approach you as you arrive. If you have a choice of rooms the higher you are the quieter it will be. The lifts are quiet and speedy. We did not use any other facilities.

Room Tip: The streets of Shanghai are noisy. Higher rooms will be quieter

I stayed there for about a month. For the price this is decent hotel in Shanghai. Location is good, since it is very close to People's Park and walking distance to Nanjing Road public shops. The Gym is not at all good, with only one weight lifting machine and two treadmills. The water pressure was very low multiple times.
Breakfast at the hotel is decent with lots of vegetarian options (I am vegetarian). However in room facilities for coffee and tea are not good. They do not replenish these items daily and I need to ask several times for these to be delivered to my room.
The staff is good though and helpful.
There is not good business center and internet is not as good as it can be.

Overall it is average and good for the price.

This is a nice, very clean, comfortable, affordable and centrally located service apartment. Stayed here for one night. My apartment had a nice living room with balcony, bedroom, bathroom and a kitchen. You can walk to People's Square. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a hotel alternative with good service, give this a try.

Stayed in the apartment hotel as our regular was fully booked that day, what a pleasant surprise. the staff were always smiling and so eager to assist. our apartment had a small balcony with city view. the apartment was well laid out and very comfortable bed. the staff at breakfast went out of their way to assist as we were latecomers. the location was so close to everything yet far enough to be peaceful. check inn check out was so smooth and so efficient. only complaint was the bathroom could have been cleaner. would recommend it for value for money

Nice hotel within a 5 minute walk of the city center (People's Square). Decent breakfast, nice sized room with kitchenette. But unless one stays in a suite, it definitely is not an apartment. But the suites are, including a living room, washing machine, etc.

Room Tip: No swimming pool and never saw the exercise room. Room comes with only breakfast for one person, a s...

Apartment type hotel has the perfect location. Walking distance (less than 3 minutes walk) to Nanjing Road and People's Square subway. The rooms are comfortable with a separate lounge and a small kitchen with all the essentials. Shower in the bath tub a little small. I booked the accommodation online and discovered that although it stated breakfast included, it was for one person only. Breakfast menu okay, although the staff are not friendly at all. We had problem with hot water each and every day in our shower. Effort was made to get it fixed but, the same cold water to shower each and every day. Thank god it was warm in Shanghai at the time. Requested a change in room during our stay. No luck. If the staff takes more interest in their guests needs, it can get the full rating of excellent. Free Wi-Fi provided. The location is the best part of Green Court Apartments. I will not hesitate to stay a this place as I don't believe that my experience would be the same as for other guests. The rooms are clean and serviced daily.
