This is a late review of my 4 night stay in 2011.

The hotel itself is fantastic, being one of the newer, most modern buildings in the area. The superior room had an interesting LED lit minibar, and the showers were very modern.

The Executive rooms had a more sophisticated styling, with more mahogany surfaces than the 'shiny' superior rooms.

I stayed at the English themed presidential suite, which did not disappoint. Spacious living area, opulent decorations (including an luxurious stand alone bathtub) all would have made for a fantastic stay, if not for the downsides to be detailed below...

As Accor Platinum members, we were initially offered our 1 level upgrade from a superior to a executive room (so far so good). Later during my stay, I booked a room 1 level below presidential suite.

Upon initially being declined an upgrade, I had to do some arm twisting before the night shift receptionist agreed. I absolutely loathe having to doing this. This is the reason that among frequent travelers, Le Club Accor Platinum status is regarded as 'almost worthless' especially compared to other loyalty programs.

Now for the worst part - upon checkout, the hotel through both incompetence and miscommunication, had incorrectly charged our stay. After about half an our of arguing, our flight to Sydney was at risk, so we had to ask a friend's local relative to stay behind and continue arguing. It was only about 30 minutes after that, that we heard back from the friend's relative saying the hotel had gotten it wrong, and we were correct all along. This one incident was enough to ruin the whole stay.

At any other upscale property such as Hyatt or Hilton, senior management would have stepped in ASAP to prevent escalation of such events, but Pullman Skyway is clearly lacking in this aspect. An absolute disgrace, that Denis Hennequin would be highly disappointed by.

I will never go back to this hotel, and my view of the Pullman brand has been decimated.

The hotel is very nice,clean and modern and the club rooms are really spacious and with an amazing view. The bed is really confortable and all the amenities in this hotel are provided. The position is quite good near Dapuqiao subway, 15 minutes by taxi to the Najing Road (city center). The check in and check out was very fast and there are no complains to do. There is a huge selection of international channels on tv also. Perfect stay.

Ask for Ms. Amelia Yuan at the 45th floor for executive lounge, she is lovely, helpful, understanding. Great welcome.

got upgraded to a suite as a plat member. suite was spacious but kinda dated. checked in smoothly at the executive lounge.
bfast at 49/fl was only fair. the food selection was small. congees and miso soup were cold.
excellent location with subway right across the hotel.

Nice and convenient location and polite staffs. Close to subway and good choice of restaurants closeby. Poor taxi connectivity and poor choice of breakfast in terms of varieties at the executive lounge.

Booked a room for $105 per night while transiting through Shanghai. What a great value! 




Pros

- rooms are huge and well anointed.

- allowed us to check in @ 10am and check out late at 2pm.

- good service by china standards 

- close to metro line

- all kids under 10 stay free if using existing bedding 



Cons

- location is a bit far away from the city center, although hotel is surround by a few malls and lots of restaurants. 

- hotel pool was under renovations during our stay

- hotel wifi was only available in the lobby (we were staying in the 12th floor and paid service wasn't available for some reason).

Room Tip: Room Tip: Do request for a room with wifi as it is not available on all floors.

Also, we are going to set wireless internet service in the second of 2013. Last but not least, we actually located in downtown area, we are just 2.5 km from Nanjing Road and Huaihai Road.
