We stayed here at the end of a group trip through China. The rooms are tidy and bathroom clean and acceptable. Beds are very hard and lifts can be slow. Staff were able to understand english. No wifi in lobby but rooms have wired internet it seems. They have a business centre, but when I went there the lady surfing the web said no internet hehe! I sat outside in the hall and got free wifi. Very very close to Nanjing Road shopping. Great dumpling house straight across the road. Street food hawkers set up in the late afternoon right at the hotel with some great pork skewers and the noodle guy on the corner is great.

Room tip: We apparently had a Deluxe room (two single beds). It was spacious and clean and the bathroom was functioning well but it is defiantly not anything special.

Two and half star hotel but right in the centre of the shopping district of Shanghai. Room was old, but clean and the beds are quite hard. Breakfast in the hotel was very good for the price. 30 yuan per person for banquet breakfast. Very close to the subway which was terrific.

Room tip: Not sure if any room is better than the next.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was quite disappointed. The rooms are OK and the location is excellent but it ends there. The staff are so incompetent it's not believable, the breakfast is terrible, no wifi - business centre is expensive. They tried to charge me for extras and fortunately knew they made a mistake. People smoke openly in the reception/dlevator even with signs saying not to. This hotel needs to lift it's game.

WE had a great Chinese meal in the old Jinjiang Hotel. It has a new part and the original hotel. It is full of charm, with elegant decorations, beautifully carved wood interior. Not much english among the staff but we ordered well. Appetizers of cold eggplant, fresh vegetables of the day, and a plate of sliced fish with Chinese sauce. We were tempted with so many dishes but two people can only eat so much. We had a table by the windows overlooking the beautiful gardens below. You were transported back to the days of the French Concession.

Room tip: We stayed at the Hilton next door, so we only were in the public areas. The lobby is gorgeous and their store had reasonably priced items for sale.

the best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. it's around the corner from one of the biggest shopping street of the city. We had an amazing view of the city from our balcony.
the streets are very busy so noisy, but I always carry ear pluggs on my travels.I would advice bringing some.
it's also very close from a subway station.
I went to the national museum which is within a walkable distance (I would say 15 or 20min).
It's very close from the river where you've got the best view on Shanghai skyline !

the room was pretty small but we were there just to sleep so it didn't bother us. good air con'.safe in bedroom.

but the facilities are pretty poor. no wifi, internet avaiable though for 10 Yuans a day (so cheap!). no laundery facilites or service. no bar . no restaurant. no bottle of water provided on arrival.
the staff was pretty good. their english were ok. I did not try to ask them for direction though.
