It was my first visit to Shanghai, and I had three days to explore the city. The Xingyu Oriental Bund was a nice base. The room was clean and well appointed, the bed was fine, and I had nice views of the Bund and Pudong. The electrical outlets can take several different plug styles. Amenities included bathrobes, a safe, and a fridge. A real plus is the sumptuous breakfast buffet included in the room price which featured dozens of main and side courses and desserts. A couple of disadvantages are that the staff's English was serviceable instead of fluent, although I am a little uncomfortable pointing this out since I am essentially monolingual. There was no one at the concierge desk during my stay, so this hotel is not the best for first time visitors to Shanghai if they want much advice from hotel employees. That said, the staff were courteous and friendly.

As other reviewers have pointed out, the location is excellent. I particularly liked being about 5 minutes from Yuyuan Gardens and its associated temples and shops, which apparently are the most popular Chinese tourist attraction in Shanghai. A subway stop is 5 minutes away in another direction, and many other attractions are just a bit further away.

This hotel almost qualifies as posh, but with very reasonable room rates. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is located at the center of local street market. However, it is only 5 minutes walking from the bund and Yu Yuan garden shopping area. You can find many affordable gifts around here. Yet don't expect great service or friendly smiles from the staff.

Its my second time after 2 years that i stayed again.
The Room was clean. But the Beds were Hard as most of the hotel beds in china.
The location is very good near to Yuyuan Metro Line 10. you can easy be at nanjing Lu within 5 minutes. Also 5 minutes walk to bund. The Yuyuan Garden and Around shopping just 4 minutes walk.
The reception English skills should be improved.

The hotel is near to Bund and Yuyuan garden, walk about 5-10min only and also near to Metro Yuyuan station.about 6mins walk distance. The room for deluxe twin is big and very clean. I like the bathtub on the bath room so much. Breakfast for two person is good. I stay here for 2 night, just to complain is the aircon is too hot for our room.always 25 degree and can not control by ourself.
