Stayed here for two nights on the travelsphere trip. We arrived late due to the typhoon and the hotel kept the restaurant open for us! Very sweet. The rooms were very clean. Lots of toiletries and clean towels, robes, slippers. We were on the 14th floor so not the best views but good enough. Gym was great. Open late and early for all your needs. Lovely big beds, two showers, Some people said their rooms smelled of smoke but ours were good. Nice breakfast! Lots of selection.

Stayed here for our last two nights in China (on 21st floor). The rooms are of a good standard, good facilities in the room such as tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, iron and ironing board, slippers, bath robes and a wide range of complementary toiletries such as toothbrushes & toothpaste, razors, comb and the usual bath products, which was fairly standard in most hotels we stayed in (minus the bath robes). Nice comfy beds (definitely the softest we had in China - as firm is the norm). Free bottled water replenished daily (again the norm). Breakfast was a good mix of Chinese & Western. We had dinner in the Dragon Palace Cantonese restaurant in the hotel, which had very efficient (if unsmiling) service, and wonderful food for a very reasonable price (Less than $10 each & we couldn't eat it all). The hotel is a 20 minute walk from The Bund, and you can get a hotel card if you get lost for the taxi to bring you home.

Stayed at this hotel as part of Travelsphere tour. It was a great start to the trip. Very comfortable room. Good facilities - ironing board, mini bar, complimentary water, tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom was an odd design - it had a big window - facing into the bedroom (thankfully there was a curtain). Breakfast was excellent - great choice of both Chinese food and western food. Location wasnt brilliant - lots of busy roads to negotiate (the drivers in Shanghai dont abide by any rules of the road). A very comfortable hotel. Nice and quiet - comfortable beds. A little tip - if on Tour take any unused tea/coffee/powdered milk sachets to the next hotel in Xian (you dont get any there!).

We stayed in this hotel as part of a tour arranged through Travelsphere and was the first of 3 hotels booked for us. Our room was on 20th floor. The good points are the rooms is of a nice standard a little worn in places, good facilities in the room such as tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, iron and ironing board. Plenty of other surprises such as dressing gown, slippers and a wide range of complementary toiletries such as toothbrushes, razors, comb and the usual bath products. Nice comfy beds. Free bottled water replenished daily. Reasonably priced mini bar. The bad points it is located on a noisy road and the bathrooms smell of sewerage! I was pleasantly surprised with the room after reading the reviews. The breakfast was of a good standard especially for westerners. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was ok but basic, drinks were reasonably priced for a hotel. 20 minute walk from The Bund.

In hindsight I wished we had stayed a little more centrally located - this place is a little on the edge of the action of Shanghai although we walked to the Bund and also went back later for dinner by cab which was no trouble.

The hotel itself was fine - although it seems that everyone smokes - including even in the lift!!! I guess we just have to put up with that. The room itself was fine - quite spacious and very clean and tidy with nice surroundings. The staff were fairly helpful.

Our room was on reasonably high up which was good - less noise to deal with and better views. The breakfast was excellent and there was a lovely view from the level where breakfast is served. Good fitness centre.

Overall pretty good.

A pleasant hotel which now seems to be called the Greenland Jiulong Hotel which is about a twenty minute walk from The Bund and downtown Shanghai, or a short taxi ride away. The concierge will happily oblige and get you one, make sure you take a card from reception so you can let the return driver know where you want to return to. The reception staff are a bit more sullen, and it is easier to change money through a machine in the lobby than with them. There is also a shop in reception. The hotel has plenty of amenities and the rooms are large and comfortable with satellite TV and a good range of toiletries plus iron, hairdryer, and in our deluxe room a sofa. The room was clean and tidy but the carpet slightly stained. There are some local restaurants within walking distance which is a better bet than eating in the hotel as the dinner options are poor which is a pity as the twenty fifth floor restaurant has some great views over to the Pudong skyline. Breakfast is better with a mixture of Chinese and Western dishes but get in early as the hotel is full of Chinese and foreign tours and gets ridiculously busy. The wait for the lifts is also a let down as there are only a couple of them and they struggle to meet demand if the hotel is busy. Getting up is also recommended as there is a social centre next door to the hotel where you can watch people doing Tai Chi early in the morning which is absolutely fascinating.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the city centre on a high floor to get a great view

We stayed here with a school trip, the rooms we were given were very rundown and couch was stained, burn marks in carpet carpet worn etc.. Our tour guide even went to ask about his toilet to be fixed and they walked away from him and he is from Shanghai, My wife tried to ask about the internet and the man at the desk looked at her and walked away the service was very bad.. We were on the 16th and 17th floor some of our kids were moved up to the 22 nd floor due to the room being totaly unacceptable and there was a world of differance in room quality. The breakfast was good but I disagree about the location I have stayed at many hotels in Shanghai closer to Nanjing road/Bund for the same or less money. I have stayed in better hotels in the outback of Peru than this hotel,

Room Tip: Ask about if the rooms are old or new and beware the 17th floor
