Located right at one end of Nanjing Street pedestrian mall, its a great location for those who love shopping. It's also right in the heart of Shanghai. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished with a good sized glass desk, sofa, king-sized bed, beautiful bathroom with separate cubicles for the wc & bath& large lcd tv.

The room at around 20+ floor was also quiet. The window faced the building with a huge neon Samsung sign.

The buffet breakfast was a really huge spread with all kinds of food & beverages.

Although was on a tour and stayed only 1 night, can imagine that the desk and chair will be a comfortable place to get some work done for the business traveler.

Being in Shanghai on sunday morning we could not resist to have a lazy sunday brunch. After some web research we decided on the Royal Meridian's VIE EN ROSE. And we were happy with our choice.
1. Free flow of MOET champagne
2. Some 100 rmb more and you have Rose Moet version. (the difference in taste quality well worth these money)
3. They have a DJ (!) So good and cheerful atmosphere is guaranteed.
4. They have some nice, really nice nurses, ready to help you with your sunday's morning hangover or just to lighten up your day.
5. They have a terrace (the restaurant is on the high floor) with a nice view on the great city of Shanghai.
6.The FOOD.
7. The food stations with whatever you can wish - roast meet, lot's of it and really tasty pieces!, some chinese specialities including pekin duck, suckling pig, dumplings etc. Japanese station - sushi, tempura, sashimi. Seafood station - salmon eggs, fish tar-tars, crabs, lobsters, oysters, scallops etc. Burger + hot dog station. Fresh greed salad- veggies station, lot's of tasy olives. Fresh pasta - to order station. Indian station. Some croissants and pastry station. Sweet station. Lot's of nice desserts!
8. They have a children corner with animation + children food station.
9.They have Barbe a Papa!
10. They have a cocktails + frozen cocktails station.
11. It lasts till 15.00

We were happy with our choice, the atmosphere was great, and the food was really tasty. I think it is a great place to reunite with your friend or even celebrate some special occasion ( we have seen few long table nearby with birthday celebration).

Great Brunch in Shanghai!!!

I have been coming here for many years. The location is very good, on Nanjing Road right by People's Square subway station. Very friendly staff greeted us at the entrance and escorted us to one of the elevators. We were staying at club level so we took the elevator to the 44th floor to check in. Although we were early our rooms were ready and check in was a breeze. Le Royal Club Lounge has a beautiful panoramic view of the Bund and Pudong, they serve breakfast and dinner (the food is very good) here and you can also get drinks and snacks during the day. The rooms are spacious but are beginning to show there age. The fitness facilities and swimming pool are located on the 10th floor, the pool is rather small and shallow for such a big hotel. When we were there the pool was very crowded. This is still my favorite hotel in down town Shanghai and I will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Try to get a "Bund View" room at night the view is awesome!

This hotel is definitely a good/great hotel if you can book the competitive rates or cash in SPG points. The hotel is pretty central to local shopping and places to eat. Great view from the rooms. One of the best values of the hotel (if you have SPG Platinum) is the breakfast. The breakfast buffet options were by superb. Lots of choices, all excellent quality, fresh juices and fruits, really well prepared, and very clean. Absolutely worth it, and if you have to pay, I still think it is worth it. We also dined at the Chinese restaurant and that wasn't too bad either.

Two things I didn't so much care for: the check in lobby is not on the ground floor. You need to take an elevator up to get to the hotel lobby (I think it was on 12 or 17). This really made it confusing sometimes on which elevator to take to get to your room or just get out of the hotel... The other thing that bothered us (stayed at the hotel 4 different times now) is the A/C. The A/C while cooling seemed to do nothing for the humidity. So the room, your clothing, etc. always felt really damp and sometimes just smelled damp. I think this is a huge problem because every time I have stayed here during the summer months it has been this way.

Other that that, hotel was good.

On my first night left my phone in the car pick-up. Concierge was super helpful and helped to locate it and return it to me. Staff is always very helpful and the rooms are really nice. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

I stay from September 19 to 21. Location and facility is ok but only not satisfy with their waitress attitude at breakfast place. I had to ask many times for coffee and when we ask about closeing time. She ignore our request even she noticed out voice and went to see other customer. Not smile is ok but ignoring we cannot accept it.
