“Awesome Location”

This hotel is at the inter junction of West and East Nanjing road. You can't have a better location if you plan to stay in the Puxi area of Shanghai. No complaints about the hotel. Very good and neat room. Excellent staff.
Sky dome bar on the top floor is a bit disappointing but if any Indian is staying there he should definitely try the veg Indian platter. It's better than what we get in India.
I would definitely stay there when I go to shanghai next time

My mother and I stayed for 1 week and couldn't recommend this hotel enough. The rooms are very comfortable (the bed is the best I've ever slept in!). All the staff from the concierges to the doormen are super friendly and willing to help with every enquiry we had - from booking spas to organizing train tickets.

The location couldn't be better - across from People's Square and the metro, a nice walk over to Xintiandi, and right by the main shopping street. Taxis are plenty and cheap.

We had the buffet breakfast a few times and while it isn't anything to write home about, it has a decent selection. Other times we simply had oatmeal or yoghurt. And after all the shopping we did, we still enjoyed the silk gift store within the hotel and picked up some well-priced scarves.

We stayed there for 4 nights in September 2012. it is really a 5 start hotel at a cheap price. Starting with the downside...staff speaks the usual stuff English, beyond that it is difficult to communicate. The rest: rooms are great, extremely clean, spacious, and the service is excellent. You get the daily paper at your door every day, you ask for stuff and they get it to you. Bathrooms are very luxury. The pool is amazing, with huge windows and lots of sun light, jacuzzi is great, and the staff very helpful! The breakfast is the best, in huge room (like the entire floor) really complete and full of juicy stuff from opening to close - no need to rush. Location is great, 20 minutes calm walk to the Bund and right above a subway station - which can take you anywhere in the city.

Room Tip: Highest floor possible because of the noise. even if you don't feel like to, use the pool betwee...

We stayed here for 8 nights with a great rate thru bookings.com. Great location right on People's Square, Metro stations and easy walking to malls, markets, restaurants and an easy place to get a taxi. The consierge staff were super helpful and went out of their way to assist any request. The room was large clean and quiet with a great view down to the Pudong skyline. Air con was a little too warm and would not bother with room service (pricey plus 15%) when there are so many great places to eat within walking distance. The hotel has a good card which lists all the main attractions with their Chinese translation that made using taxis incredibly easy. Much easier to get around than Beijing. Will stay here again if I ever return

Room Tip: Try to gt a room facing the Pudong skyline. Loved that view.

Excellent choice of hotel after reading many TA reviews. It is really well located with People's Square (park) and the metro just across the road. The hotel facilities are excellent. Great rooms - we were located in a corner room on level 29. Could not fault the room. Large comfortable beds; huge shower and bath. All toiletries supplied and 2 bottles of water per day.
TV has access to about 6 english speaking channels. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
You must go and have a meal in the revolving restaurant on level 45 of the Hotel. Grab a booth and settle back for a few drinks and some really tasty food. You don't have to move and you gently revolve around 360 degrees to get spectacular views of the whole City. Brilliant!!
We used the pool and spa on level 8 every day. Lovely to help you relax before a hectic day in a busy City.
All in all, this was a perfect Hotel to choose.
Also took the advice of another TA reviewer and used the massage places at the back of the hotel. Really cheap massages; in modern facilities, and the masseurs were very good.
We were only there for 5 days, so used the "Big Bus Tour" to get around Shanghai (this is an excellent way to see Shanghai). Pay a little bit extra (around US$50) and you will get the 48 hour usage of the Bus as well as free entry into 2 sites as well as a river cruise.
The Hotel is only 5-10 minutes walk from an indoor market/bazaar which sells everything from clothes; electronic goods; shoes; bags; cosmetics; and gifts etc for very reasonable prices (exit right when you leave the hotel front entrance and it's about 2 minutes past Costa's Coffee).

Room Tip: High level corner room was excellent.

*Dual head showers in rooms
*English tv channels
*Hotel property has beautiful gardens

Cons:
*few places to walk around and have dinner (we went to la dame chatres for dinner which is a 7 min walk)
*Depends on your type of stay, but properly is located in the French concession far away from tourist places.

A preferred choice for those who are looking to book somewhere convenient with budget constraints - the hotel is centrally located with shanghai railway station only a few stops away by metro. You can get access to other parts in the city at ease by metro or cab without hassle. There are quite a lot of restaurants and kiosks selling local food closeby where foodies would love to explore, and it's just a few steps away from the famous nanjing east road walkway, a paradise for those who love shopping. A value for money choice.

However travellers who stay at this hotel are worth to take note of the hygiene of the amenities in the room - especially the pillow cases, bed sheets and towel that they change for you, stains were spotted on the bed sheet and pillow case in the room that I stayed!
