Spent three nights here on my last visit to Shanghai. Compared to the other higher end hotels I have stayed at on my previous visits I think this one was the bast value so far.
Rooms was clean and in good shape. Location is excellent and close to shopping and local attractions. The Bund was a little bit of a walk but doable. Restaurant food was good along with the breakfast buffet. The room was a little tight when first coming in and getting past the small office area right inside the door. Bathroom privacy was a little odd with the open shades between glass panes between the sleeping area and the tub in the bathroom but for me it wasn't a issue. Housekeeping was quick an did a good job of cleaning the room and it was very quiet overall.

The hotel has everything that you would expect from a 5 Star hotel in a big city. However, the service at the Epicure Restaurant on the 45th floor leaves a lot to be desired. We dined there on two separate occasions as they had an Indian chef who made great food, but the wait staff downright rude. Throwing cutlery on the table when "placing it" , disappearing for about 20 mins at a time, so long that the chef came to serve us the food himself. Also, the Deluxe room is kind of useless. The division of the room into "office" and "bedroom" just makes it feel more cramped.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The lobby had a great feel and the decor was very modern and nice. There was a train station that was the hub the system so we could easily catch trains and go to places rather than worry about taxis or walking. There are a few places to go and eat within walking distance. The view is great and it even has its own revolving restaurant which has a great view at night. This is a great place to stay

Radisson has a great location right across from the peoples square at the start of the Nanjing Rd pedestrian mall. Service is great and the hotel has everything you'd expect- room service, concierge, gym, spa and even 24 hr restaurant( very handy following late evenings in the office). The suites in the front tower are immaculate. My colleague was upgraded to one of those rooms as she'd stayed at the hotel more than two dozen times before. Within the suite there is a sitting room with big couches which can be perfect for conducting business meetings, then large bathroom and bedroom. I had a deluxe room which was in a different tower and not quite as well appointed. It had a small corner office which led into the bedroom and bathroom with spa. Furniture was a little tired. Overall, location is good, service is good but I think I'll try to get my office to book a newer style hotel for my next trip to Shanghai

We only stayed here for one night. We arrived earlier then check in (i did email them that this would be the case) our room was ready with no extra charge (unlike some other hotels). The room was large; it was split into 2 the first area you walk into is like an office with a desk and TV then through a door to the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was large too with separate bath, shower & WC.
We didn’t have breakfast included in the room rate so we haven’t tired the food here.
The staff were helpful.
The location was right on the main shopping area and the view from our room would have been great apart from it was very foggy the day we arrived.

Shanghai was our first stop in a tour that included Auckland and Tokyo, and it was easily the best of these. Having visited both Hong Kong and New York, we thought we were quite used to skyscraper-based cities, but Shanghai really was breathtaking...

Our experience was certainly enhanced by choice of hotel. It is ideally placed in one of the two impressive parts of the city, and a nice walk from The Bund.

We had opted for a Club room for the two adults, and regular room for our children. This enabled us to have 'free' drinks and snacks on the top floor for short periods in the day, but due to jet lag, this became our evening meal on two of our three nights. We also had the hotel breakfast - nice place, with a view of the square, but the food was nothing great.

The rooms were lovely and reasonably spacious, and afforded great views. The lifts were fast and the swimming pool was massive.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, but then we only chose it because of the reviews on this site.

Quick tip: at Pudong Airport, avoid all the people offering you a taxi or executive transport, even those holding the signs of your hotel. Take the Maglev (fast quiet train) after showing your boarding pass for 20% discount. You still have to get a taxi from the train station, but we ended up saving 50% on the best price offered, and went on the world's most advanced passenger train.

Stayed at the Radisson Shanghai New World in Dec 2010. Came over to Shanghai after our sightseeing trip to Beijing.

Booked the Radisson as they had some offers at the point of time. Luckily we didn't regret it.

We managed to get a grand deluxe room with an additional study room. it's great as my little monster can get a "room" of her own by just adding a bed.

Although the room is small, it is still able to place a bed there.

The furnishings in the room are relatively new. There are two LCD TVs in the room and a relatively huge bathtub. Overall, I would rate the room as very clean and it is very well maintained.

The hotel has a revolving restaurant on the top of the building which resembles a flying saucer at night :D

Even though they had some celebrity chefs there, the prices are really exorbitant !!!!

That's why we decided to spend our money on the local delights which are available just next to the building Radisson New World. There is a KFC and Burger King outlet just at the New World Emporium next door.

Just to the left of the Radisson New World is the Madam Trussad's Wax Museum which is interconnected to the hotel.

Just be careful of "beggars" or con artists telling you they've lost their wallet or asking you to buy them a bun. They look like your typical teenagers who are well-dressed.

The hotel is just in front of the People's Square and Nanjing Road. So, getting around the rest of Shanghai is not a major problem.

If you're there for the first time like we were, try and book an open-top tour bus which is situated directly outside the hotel. Just need to cross a street and you'll see the tour bus operators standing across the street.
