The Seventh Heaven is located at the west end of the pedestrianized portion of Nanjing Road, Shanghai's shopping show street. The hotel lobby is on the seventh floor of a building that has a department store on the ground level. It is literally as much in the middle of things as it is possible to get. It's easy walking distance to the Bund or the museums at People's Square, and one of the main metro lines runs right under Nanjing Road.
The hotel itself is standard cramped center-city fare. As might be expected for the location and the price, the rooms are very small. My "average" rating could have been "very good," however, had the rooms been cleaner. The rooms aren't dirty -- they're clearly cleaned every day -- but a degree of city filth is deeply embedded in them. On top of that the hotel allows smoking, so the rooms are a bit stale from that as well. Worst, there were small areas of mold in the shower stall.
With a little bleach and freshening up this could be a really great hotel, but as it stands it's not worth more than its budget price. That said, the price IS very good for what they offer in the location they offer it. I would stay there again. It's not terrible by any means. But it will disappoint people who are sensitive about scents or mold.
