Good rooms, good service, clean - a good business hotel ..., Also a great breakfast spread. Important great access to most areas... You won't be caught in a traffic jam. The room service is very prompt at all times of the day. Location is Yanan xilu, next to the Hilton. It's walking distance to the business area of french concession - changde Lu and changle Lu.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night on September 12. My preferred Shanghai hotel was not available on this date due to the lateness of the booking but still wanted to stay in the Jingan Area so thought I would give this a try.

For a hotel which is rated as a 4 star hotel - it lacked the service and quality that we normally assosicate with 4 star hotels. Check in took longer than usual due to our booking not appearing in the system, the rooms were outdated and are in desperate need for some refurburbishment (stayed on the 16th floor), and the room itself lacked the warm and friendly environment.

Breakfast is charged at 170 RMB which is overpriced for a simple breakfast buffett and when we requested some bottled water (which many hotels provide free of charge with breakfast) we were delivered a 330ml bottle of Evian water at a cost of 57 RMB. Yes, I realise that it is not compulsory to have breakfast at the hotel, but this is just a case of taking advantage of the business traveller.

The only positive was the free internet and wifi. Which whilst providing good value, is not enough of a positive to make me stay at this hotel again.

Disappointed.

This hotel is very central and close to buses (right outside on the road) as well as a five minute walk to the subway. The subway was easy to use with English translation on the ticket machines and a quick and easy way to get to the Bund (only three stops away). The hotel has a very flash lobby where you can use free wifi. The staff are very helpful, with one in particular who has been educated in New Zealand having the best english. They are Chiese speaking and very few of them speak english so this can be a problem sometimes, but they keep trying and get help where they can. We posted a box home from the hotel and the concierges were extremely helpful.

The hotel is just along the road from some good restaurants, and around the corner from the French Quarter which I think is fabulous with its restaurants and small boutique shops. Definitely worth a visit. The Bund is good for a walk along, and a shopping mall called 580 where you go and get all the 'take offs' is worth a visit, but be prepared to be hassled, both verbally and physically.

The lighting in the hotel room was a little low for my liking but definitely survivable. The room was big and comfortable and had good air conditioning. The buffet breakfast was enormous with plenty of choices for both ethnic Chinese and non Chinese.

I highly recommend this hotel for its location, service, and cleanliness.

I Stayed here for a work conference within the hotel so it was ideal for my needs. It's a nice hotel, great staff, breakfast and services. I'd ideally prefer to closer to the bund/ nanjing road but for this trip it was fine.

I received a free upgrade which was great not sure what the difference was but I was really happy with my room.

Check out the Balinese restaurant close by its lovely!

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. My room was spacious and clean, and i liked the complimentary tea and coffee, and the fact that the toiletries were always replenished. One minus was that the rubber bath mat in the bath tub was very mouldy on the underside. It should have been cleaned. But no other complaints apart from that about the room. As I was here for business, I did not have time to use the hotel's facilities like pool and gym, so can't say much about them. The location is great, as there is a subway - Line 2, Jing An Temple - nearby. There are also many local restaurants and bars.

I stayed for 7 nights in this hotel and had a very comfortable time. I was pleasured of various types of things for breakfast. We had entertainments like swimming pool, sona, squash, tennis field and relaxation massage from 9 am to 9 pm. WiFi internet in labby and Lan in rooms was another facility in this pleasant hotel. There was a bus and subway transfer near the hotel that we could go every where particularly airport with low price. The kind and active staffs make the hotel more amazing. I will come to this hotel in my next trip to shanghai.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side have better view. We were in the 11th floor and dont know about the noise of...
