Our guide took us here just to view the vast 3D model of Shanghai. Do this on your first day to get your bearings and to truly appreciate the scale of the city.

The replica of the city was by far the best part of the Urban Planning Center! It gives a great idea of how much growth has happened in Shanghai in the past 15 years.

At first, I thought it's just like another museum, but once inside and went through it all, I am very impressed, the city planning, the the theatre and the revolving icon of Shanghai was very interesting. Should spend time in it.

The most interesting thing about this was the truly massive model of Shanghai.

A group of more than a hundred local primary school children arrived just after us and considerably compromised our experience (along with deafening us with their shouting and the PA announcements from those accompanying them).

I left feeling that I hadn't got the information I'd expected. Much of the information was outdated - it appeared as if the whole thing had been put together (maybe for expo) and then never updated.

A large section was closed off - hopefully for updating.

There were good views from the top floor - which also included a cafe with two staff who looked like they hadn't seen any customers in months and couldn't be bothered to raise their heads when we walked in. Hardly appealing.

An interesting experience but I wouldn't put this on the list of must-do's.

Excellent organization.
Permits you to enjoy the entire powerful Shanghai construction in a very nice display. Go over all floors, do not miss a thing.
